Hi folks,

is there a source for plain black slim jim (cross draw prefered) holster for a euroarms navy Remmie with a 6 1/4" bbl for a reasonable price? Thanks in Advance for info regarding not only holsters, but opinions on the Euroarms guns too. I'd really prefer this revolver with a 5 1/2" bbl, but can't find any. Am open to any and all suggestions.

I wish I could help you specifically, but I applaud your choice of a "Slim Jim" style.  IMHO, the old C&Bs of all types, and also 1875 Remingtons look best sheathed in the older styles.

Steel Horse.

I couldn't agree with you more; plus I guess I'm still suffering from an overdose of the overly decorated rigs that populated the westerns when I was a kid in the '50's. I'm not trying to be dogmatic; everyone has a right to their own taste and that's all my statement is, just one man's preference.

Tom B Stone,

I use a pair of Old West Reproduction Slim Jims for my '58 Remingtons.  They are about $80 apiece as I remember, but they are worth it.  They are available both in straight draw and cross draw.  I believe you can get them in black.  When ordering you will have to ask.  They are also built for specific guns, so when ordering you will need to specify what guns they are for.  I like the slim jim style partially because you don't see them at matches all that much.  They sure seem to hold my Remingtons.

Howdy again, Tom B !

Yep, them older styles do seem to go well with the more plain type holsters.  Like you, just MY opinion.

I do, however, enjoy a semi-fancy batch of leather.  I had the priviledge of snagging a fancy Wyoming loop holster wth beautiful carving and stamping from a friend who made all my leather. (Jeff Spoor at Cumberland Custom Leather)  He had made it to put on the front page of his website, but now he makes only saddles and harmonica cases.  He's one of the few making belts 'n such for Pro harmonica players.  (You'd be AMAZED at how much business he has right now.)  The first impression is that the holster is identical to the F.A. Menea holster featured on the cover of the book, Packing Iron.  He did't want to "copy" the holster so he changed the carving.

Anyway, good luck in your search.  There is a brand called "Oklahoma Leather" that Cabellas sells ( and Midway, and others ... ) that make:  A) very plain,  B) good quality for the $$,  C) somewhat soft, and  D) perhaps the most authentic looking   products.

Just a small hint to set you on your way.
