Howdy to the camp!

Well I went to our River City Regulators match at Yolo sunday and shot really bad!  Probably because it has been a year since I have shot a match, and second my right shoulder is due for surgery to be rebuilt next month (too many injuries and torn rotator cuffs trhrough the years!).  I brought both my 56-50 Spencer and 44-40 Henry to shoot as main match.  After looking at the rifle targets, however, I realized that most were rather tiny, and the 56-50 would knock them over.  The RO, a friend of mine, eyeballed my Spencer with raised eyebrow (probably thinking "Sh_t, were going to be doing cease fires to go down range to reset targets today".  While he didn'r say it, I read it in his eyes and cheerfully (as much as I could with my heart breaking) told him, "Don't worry, JC, I will use the Henry tody"

He did allow me some sighters down range at the 50 yard burm (about 65 yards from the shooting line.  I threw up the trusty Spencer, leaned against the window sill of a prop, and busted a clay pigeon on the burm with the first shot! <GGGGGG>  I then fired a few more nailing fist sized rocks, etc. every time.  My Spencer fix almost complete, I returned to my Henry for the match.

I do love my Spencer!!!!!!!!!  ooops, I love my Henry too<g>
