ok, ask the experts they said so here I am

on the 1872 open tops when the cylinder is OUT should you be able to pull it to full cock..it seems on one of mine it does and on the other one it does not..the hand dose not slip behind the frame as I think it should, hench keeping it from going to full cock..which way is correct and if there is something wrong with one, what do I have to fix??

Without the cylinder in place to hold the hand back in its channel, the hand spring can push the hand forward far enough to hang up in its slot in the recoil shield.  Some OT's / conversions do it, some don't, due to the amount of hand fitting required with these parts.  It is not considered a defect.  If you have a need to go to full cock without the cylinder in place, you can push the hand back into its slot while pulling back the hammer.

Thanks that is what I wanted to hear that it isn't considered a defect..ok that one question... thanks for the speedy comebock on that. ;D
