Can someone please recommend a gunsmith who knows Pietta Remingtons?

I need an action job.

Thank you in advance.

He has done work for me and always does the right job. I haven't had him do my Remmies, but he knows them well.

Thank you. I sent him an e-mail.

Update:

After much research, I've decided to send my 6.5" Pietta Navy to Jim Martin, the old-time Colt guru. Only $120 for a "pro" action job and a one week turnaround. That's hard to beat.

I'll post another update when the job is finished.

They say that this fellow is probably the best cap 'n ball man in the country. He even has a forum with satisfied customers.

He does look knowledgeable, but he doesn't work on cartridge firearms. Mine is a conversion.

I couldn't get on there because I'm not a member.

It seems that Big Iron Barrels (BIB) has failed to deliver products that were paid for. A complaint was filed with the Better Business Bureau, but BIB didn't respond to the BBB's inquiries. Their recent eBay feedback has been almost solid negative--eBay has since terminated them--and the owner isn't replying to e-mails. One of his former employees is on www.thehighroad.org and, well, he isn't saying much (he says the owner has a "bad back"). Apparently Ohio's Attorney General has been contacted.

And BIB's forum has mysteriously ... died.

Thanks for the warning. Too bad when people do that. It hurts the whole sport.

Posted for BigIron Barrels by SFT.  I am in no way connected w/ BigIron Barrels other than being a satisfied customer.

To whom it may concern;

BigIron Barrels has had a long history of quality work and craftsmanship, as well as a dedication to our
customers.  We pride ourselves in the quality of our work and ultimately the satisfaction of each and every
customer.

Unfortunately, I have recently been advised by Brinkster, the web-provider for Big Iron Barrels Inc., that the former webmaster I had employed has not only deleted all files and information related to our forum but our company store-front and website as well.

Additionally, most, if not all business records from
the past year or so are missing and I must assume have been destroyed or never even initiated, to include all customer correspondence/work-orders/E-mails, etc.

Without tags or work orders to go with the items previously received, I have been unable to do any work on them or even contact the owners to determine what work had been requested to begin with.

Please be apprised that we will take every and all necessary steps within our power to satisfy our customers orders as quickly as possible.

Anyone with any service questions or unfulfilled orders, please contact me with a detailed description of the service, part, and/or order you placed with us, including the date, type of part, and any identifying marks or serial numbers so that we may tag each item correctly with it's owners information and the service requested.

With all due respect;

For what it's worth ... SFT has posted this information on several forums.

As for me, I'm avoiding this business.
