I am trying to find out the date of Mfr on a Spencer its serial number is 34082 Could anyone help me?

Check out this link, I don't know if this helps.  Just type in the serial # of your Spencer in the submit box and go from there.  You will get a list of Spencers that will cover that range of serial #s; your serial # is within that range.

Then that means that my Spencer was used in the Civil War?

If it's a Model 1860, quite likely it was used during the war.  If it's a model 1865, it almost certainly was not.

Hi All -
I'm pretty sure Two Flints information shows the recorded date of issue, indicating that your carbine was probably issued in as early as October '64 and as late as Feb '65.  Its date of manufacture is probably several months earlier.  I think Roy Marcot's wonderful book has a table matching serial numbers with deliveries, which is more indicative of DOM.  Some of these sat in crates for many months; others went to units almost immediately.

These are all 1860 Carbines in this range.  Is that what is?  Some were later converted after the war. 'Sound's like a nice piece.
