Good for you. So much for 'box stock' guns, huh? I usually tinker a little bit with all my guns. I never understood those who thought that shooting them stock from the box was some sort of badge of honor. Just because you like to get better performance out of your equipment does not mean you are some sort of cheater.

I was lucky enought to make acquantice of a ,,and I mean,,master pistol smith locally.
He came recommended by everyone here that shoots.
Visited him last night, took the revolvers to him....
I got there about 4pm,,,I left his shop at 2am. I learned more about revolvers than I ever thought iwas possible.
And no,,,I didnt bring my guns back,,,,he said he puts quite a few hours on ..check for wee burrs and stuff ALL over,,,checking this and that and back over that and this,,,,he said putting new springs in was good,,but that wasnt an action job,,,that a true action job requires time,,,and then he proceeded to show me all what he is gonna do...
to say the least I was IMPRESSED.
So, now when I buy a revoler,,,I just figured the cost of 'fix'in' it in the price of the gun...
I was amazed at how many wee things,,,rought spots,etc ,things you could feel when the gun was cycled,,that were there,,,,
He slugged both barrels so now I know what size lead to shoot...
Now, admittley HES a gamer,,,but,,,this "GAME" is gettin' a hold on me,,,were I WAS the occasioanl clip or cylinder thur my gun for just the enjoyment of hearing the bang,,,im addicted to ,,,how should i say this,,,LOts MORE bang !

and that is a GOOD thing.

OH, Driftwood,,,I had gunsmith order from Brownells,,,Colt rubber checkerd grips ,,,,I know it wont make my guns real Colts,,but I have been obessed at looking at the pics of your pair....at least ill have better guns now than before they went to him,,,
and he showed me a few things that I can easily do,,,,with care...who knows,,one day i might be 'tinkering' with my own,,,
