Not period correct ( but )

Just had to add a casehardened frame 1858 remmie to my collection .. i`m a stickler for being period correct ..   ( But ) after doing some serious range time with the casehardened one and a steel frame one .. during cleaning i noticed that the black powder fouling came off the caseharden frame alot easyer than the regular steel frame  .. it was like the fouling just didn`t stick to it ... just wondering is anyone else had noticed this .
The one i bought is the Uberti with 5 1/2 inch barrel which isn`t period eaither .. but then again when you have alot of remmies ya just have to try one of each flavor . This one is worth the exta bucks .

  I guess I havent paid much attention to cleaning issues, they all clean up ok for me.

  BUT!!!!! I agree about the 5 1/2" CCH Uberti. To me, it's just the most beautiful gun I have.
  I'm going to get an antiqued conversion cylinder for it when I can, and as time goes by, add another one of 'em.... I had my local gunsmith do a minor clean up on it and it is smooth as silk!

Howdy Pards, My next Remmi is going to be a Uberti 5 1/2". I would like to take a gander at one of those casehardened ones. Who has them? Where did you get yours at Sundance44's.

Taylor's & Co  has the 5 1/2" ones. I've always had good dealings with them.

I have a case hardened Pietta with checkered grips that were sold by Cabelas a couple years ago.  Got it in the Bargain Cave for $150 when they were closing them out.  The checkered grips are excellent wood.

Boots mine came from Taylors ..little pricey but worth it .. it`s real nice .
