Cestos Creek Cowboy

Hey y'all,

I am interested in doing some cowboy shooting near Tulsa but don't have the arsenal required for SASS and am a bit more traditional minded on dress and equipment than some in SASS.

Is there anyone out there that might be anywhere near Tulsa that wants to shoot NCOWS style shooting?  Or is there a Posse already underway in the area.

If there are enough people interested, I don't mind being the one to start our own Posse.

Let me know.

Howdy C. C. Cowboy,

I believe that if you contact the Secretary, Quick Fire, and request the members in OK, you would get a contact list.  You might find some folks in southern KS who would be in range.  There are some in Witchita I have been told.  Hope that you will find a couple more.  3 is all you need to start and 2 more by the end of the first year.

You would also be more than welcome to join the Kansas Vigilance Committee which hold most of it's events in Garnett, KS.  We have our Cowboy Town event coming up in 3 weeks and would be welcome.  It is a living history event with some interesting rules.  We can come up with a tent for you if you need one.  Some shooting is available and lots of fun.  Just PM Grizzle Bear if you want more information or PM me and I will call you on my nickle to takd about it.

We would really like to see and Oklahoma Posse get started!!  NCOWS will give you all the help that we can.

CCC,   I would be interested in getting something started in the Four States area also. Am over here in Carthage, MO and plan to remain a part of Kansas Vigilance Committee but sure would be nice to have twice the fun available.

Jerry Barnes is at Mountain Home Ark.  If you guys could find a place to shoot in the Tulsa-Carthage-Mt. Home triangle, I'm sure he would be interested.

I know in the past Jerry has said that he has a good area for a range. Jerry does not have a computer so you would have to send your contact info to Books or myself and we could get them to Jerry and he could contact you.    jt

I think Guns Garrett is at Coffeyville, KS.  That's pretty close.

CCC:
Yes I am near; if we can get enough of us together, and a place to shoot, I'd like to form a posse with folks around here.  I would be more active than I am if it was more local.  I do not relish a 1 1/2 hour trip to Garnett and back on a regular basis. but do try (once in the past year).  I shoot with a SASS-type (not affiliated, but shoots SASS rules) club in Neodesha, KS, and I know there are two SASS clubs around Tulsa.  I would be interested in starting a posse for NCOWS in the SE KS/NE OK area.  I am leaving tomorrow for the GAF Muster in Iowa, and will be gone all weekend, but maybe we can get in contact later.

Guns;

If you have a place to shoot, and wanted to pass the word locally, the KVC could make a pilgrimage down there with some targets and such and help you put on a shoot.  Think about it for next year, and let me know.
