Are you looking for period correctness?

New barrel on a new gun is to costly for my budget.
Unless you know someone out there that will rebarrel at a resonable cost?
I shoot classic cowboy, Rifle needs to be a 66 or a 73.

Weak rifling? Huh?  ???  The rifling depth has little to do with accuracy for a rifle that will be shot at most at 100 yds. I'm assuming you mean an Uberti here that has weak rifling. Actually, the original Sharps Creedmoor rifles that shot to 1000 yds. had rifiling only 0.003 deep. It takes very little to impart a twist to a projectile. Deep rifling was a carryover from the muzzleloader era.

100 yds. might be on the long end, at a 2/3 day match, Just at a SASS monthly match much closer ;D.......Your first post I was thinking you wanted a Winchester, not an Uberti. That you had been looking at worn out rifles.  I have to agree with Fox Creek Kid on the rifling's in an Uberti

A Uberti '73 repro will do fine for your purposes, don't worry about the rifling, mine works fine in 44-40.  If you shoot black powder get the Big Lube 38-40 bullet mold from Dick Dastardly.  It is just a scaled down version of the Big Lube 44-40 bullet and will work fine in the Uberti.

Norton Buffalo,

I have a '66 Improved Henry from Uberti and in .45 Colt.  The rifling on it is very shallow.  I am sure the rifling is the same as on the '73.  At the ranges we shoot at it will hit the targets just fine if I do my job.  At Winter Range this year I shot it in the long range pistol caliber lever action side match and I believe the target was set at 100 yards.  I hit the target when I actually aimed properly.  So I wouldn't worry about the rifling on the '73.
