Howdy to the camp,

Well I am up to my butt in Spencers for this CC "Spencer roundup.  The 44-40 carbine has found a home already, and I got my original 56-50 Carbine back from Judge Hemp, and still have the 56-50 infatry rifle. I found I shoot it the carbine most, and the Cavalry unit I am going to transfer to in IL (thanks Major 231) will let me use either the Spencer Carbine or the Sharps carbine, but not he rifle. I also plan to hunt with the Spencer, and the carbine is just more handy than the rifle.

So.....

Well, I will be looking for a home for the Infantry rifle after I finish the shooting and photos for the article.  It will be about $1,000 with a sling, including shipping.  It has about a 3 lb trigger (from the factory) and feeds the DWM/HRHW 350 flawlessly.  It shoots a might low <g> but I haven'e trimmed it.  Best done by the new owner to suit their loads.  I also have the Buffalo Arms .350/512 mold fir sale for extra.  As I only use the DWM/HRHW 350, I don't need it.  See seperate post.

TL,

Please explain how, why, you got the original Spencer back from Judge Hemp...just curious and is this the same original you Emailed me about last year?

Howdy,

It is one of the Original TAYLOR's carbines I obtained that I got back from Judge Hemp. not the original 56-56 1860 model. He still has that, though he wants to sell it bck, and I am temped.  I sold the first 56-50 Taylor's to Yankee Bandit to repair a roof on a rental.  When I got flush I got another Taylor's 56-50 carbine.  When I had a chance for the first infantry rifle, I sold this second 56-50 carbine to Judge Hemp.  He liked the 44-40 I got for the article so much, he traded me back the 56-50 carbine I sold him last year for the 44-40 carbine I just got.  NOw I guess I will sell, this infantry rifle to pay for the 44-40 I traded Judge Hemp.  Since I prefer the Carbine to the rifle, I can't see spending the $$$ to keep the rifle too.  Confusing, ain't it! <g>

Toulumne,

I a happy that you can keep it stright as to who has what rifle in what caliber and was traded to whom, as you have me totaly confused.  Is it possible toget a picture up of the Infantry Rifle and the Carbine to show the leangths and a side by side comparison?

Thanks

Cannon Fodder is adopting the Infantry rifle.  I will be doing photos for the article and will get Two Flints to post them on the list
