So about 5 years ago I saw the UBERTI BISLEY FLATTOP, .45 COLT,  7 1/2 " barrel with front and rear adjustable sights.

Not being one to rush in on another gun I didn't need I spent the next 2 or 3 years looking at it till I needed it.
Great, I find out it is no longer being made.

Now starts the quest that will take me on that LONG trail on the internet.

3 more years of looking on Gun Broker, Auction Arms, want adds on 5 or 6 gun forums, ect, ect all to no avail.
Finally this February I talked to Knob Creek gun range. They said sure but it will have to come from UBERTI in ITALY and may
take 3 months or more.
Great, I give him $200.00 to seal the deal (he didn't want to take it, said I could pay when it arrived) but I wanted to nail it down. So now I sit back and wait for my boat to come in. Its September now.

While all this is going on I have been whining to a gun pard of mine about this Bisley for 5 years .
Last month having had enough he told me about a Uberty .45 colt Bisley 5 1/2 barrel open sights in town for a good price.
Told me to shut up the whining and buy it and when the boat comes in he will buy it from me.
Now this seems like a good idea, we have never shot a Bisley and both want one + he likes the 5 1/2 " barrel.

OK, I get it. $425.00 used.

After cleaning it it's load up 100 with trail Boss and off to the range.

Bad news. The action sucks. Good news, it shots to point of aim at 50'.
So its off to the local smith for some work.
$65.00 later its a LOT better but still some creep in the trigger. New lighter springs may come later.

Now I find CAS City, check it out and think  "Bisley WANTED ad in the classifieds".
Short time later Texas Trail Boss shoots me an email, ONE week later I've got my dream like new Bisley Flattop.
A great pard to deal with. This gun did not look like it had been shot, not even a turn line and it shoots great, low but I've got adjustable sights.!!

AND THEN,, I'm looking on Gun Broker and there is a Uberti .45 colt 7 1/2" barrel non adjustable sights but with tru ivory handles custom fitted at the factory.  So here's the deal, I'll take the tru ivory and put them on the Flattop !! I buy it.  $415.00 - 125.00( for grips) = $290.00 (for the Bisley).

Now when my boat comes in...........................

So you see, dreams DO come true when you get to CAS CITY.

   your new pard,

              sheepdip

ps: What a long strange trip its been.
