What hat did Woodrow Call wear? Where can you buy one?

I have an old hat made by Ranchcraft that I've reshaped into an open crown, turned down brim.  My hat has a 5 1/2 rounded crown and a three inch brim but I'd like to get a 4 - 4 1/2" brim to keep the sun at bay a bit more while keeping the crown size to 6".

I like the hat that Call wore in LD but all you can find from hat merchants are Gus creases.  Who made that Call hat or do you know its dimensions?

www.randhats.com  He made the original, calls it the Gunfighter.  Very good quality hats, not inexpensive but priced very fair for the quality you get.  I own one of his hats, worth evey penny.

I was just watch Lonesome Dove this weekend and also noted Capt. Call's hat.  I found these two hat at Miller Hats.  I really like them and someday plan on buying one for myself in gray (also comes in black).  The top one looks just like the hat my grandfather used to wear to church.

Thanks boys.  Them there's the kinda hats I was looking for.  Guess you gotta call Rand to get a price.

Yikes, the Rand (very nice at 80% bever) is $350!  The Miller is half that.  Guess I know who'll get my order  ;)

El Peludo

Here's a funny story about them tall open crowned hats:  I bought a Stetson silverbelly open crown with an eight inch crown, size 7-1/2.  On my birthday, my bride threw me a surprise party, and one of my best friends was sitting on the couch, just visiting.  I got my new hat to show off, and passed it around.  When Steve got it, he put it on, and it went right down and sat on his shoulders.  Pretty funny, a man with a hat for a head.

Miller Hats seems like a great place to buy from. Good selection, and accessories also. Thanks for the tip and link Birdgun!
