In the Spencer Shooting Society, Fox Creek Kid said: "Frenchie, since we don't want to "horn in" here in the SSS why don't you elaborate on this .44 Colt Remmy over in the SCORRS section as I am very interested in the details and I'm sure the gang over there will be as well."

Not much to say about it, it's a Pietta or Uberti (not sure which) NMA with the 5.5" barrel and a .44 Colt conversion cylinder, and Steve Young is going to do his magic and slick it up for me. It'll be the handgun half of my NCOWS Originals outfit along with the Spencer rifle that Steve will also work on. This is my first Originals outfit, a sergeant of the 3rd US Infantry in 1867-1869. Others in mind will be an ordnance sergeant and a navy petty officer. The cool thing about the Spencer rifle is, it works with all three impressions!

Fox Creek Kid

Is this a Kirst cylinder? Elaborate, please.  ;D

Frenchie

Duh... I dunno, Kid  ???  I told Steve I wanted a Remington conversion in .44 Colt with a 5.5" barrel. He said he'd do it, gave me a price, and I sent off the money. Trusting soul, ain't I?  :D

I believe in developing a good relationship with someone who knows what he's doing, be it an auto mechanic, plumber, gunsmith, whatever. Steve's reputation led me to send him my Pietta '51 Navy Colt and Remington Navy to him for tuning, and although they aren't back yet, his communications with me have me convinced that I'm dealing with a good 'smith and a good man. I sent off a big chunk of swag for the Spencer rifle and the .44 Colt Remington based on that trust. I know, as busy as he is, I'm not likely to see them anytime soon, but I want them right and am willing to wait. Especially I want that Spencer to work as long as I do my part.

If you are getting a 44 Rem.C.F. conversion pistol then he;ll either make your cylinder or it'll be a Kirst. as Kirst is the only one producing the 44 Rem. C.F. cylinder at this time. I shoot 44 Rem. C.F. with a 248 Grain outside lubed bullet from Old West Moulds in a 44 Colt Case. with 28 Grn. BP. Very accurate. I love my Euroarms/Armi San Paolo Old Model Army Remmies.
