This is a "stand & deliver" stage.

Pistols holstered.  Rifle and shotgun on table.  You start in the "Gabby Hayes" position, at the table, facing up-range (back to the targets).

You may shoot any gun first.

You may not shoot handguns back-to-back.  IOW... You must shoot a long gun between the pistols.

How would you shoot it?  Why?

Remember, we're talking transitions, so target sequence doesn't matter.

After some Cowboy Tai Chi, I've worked out my likely run.  Subject to change if something more interesting occurs to me.

From Gabby Hayes, to RIFLE first.  Rifle with right hand, snap to shoulder, lever on the way up, shoot.
Rifle down with LEFT hand and RIGHT PISTOL drawn and shoot.
Holster with RIGHT hand while going for shells with left hand.
Right hand to SHOTGUN with left hand to meet at some point to load first shell.
Shotgun down with RIGHT hand while LEFT hand draws left pistol.

This flows best for me with the added advantage of not having to holster the left pistol on the clock (happens after the final shot).  All the transitions in this sequence blend together with both hands always busy when not shooting.

If pistols can be shot back to back, then the entire run changes.  But since it was stipulated as must not be, then this works best for me.

No footwork.  All guns are staged within reach of your starting position, so ya just "stand & deliver" lead to the targets.

Sounds like my kinda stage.  Thanks for the explanation.

Howdy! I think this is what I would do. Start with shotgun, pull shells as I turn around, pickup shotgun load & fire as needed. Put shotgun down w/left hand and w/forarm. While putting down shotgun pull R side pistol, & engage targets. While holstering R pistol, L hand is reaching for rife to pickup buy the forarm. Cycle rifle on the way up & shoot. When finished put rifle down with Right hand by the stock (I shoot a pump rifle so action is opened with the L hand). Left hand is reaching to draw the L pistol while putting down the rifle with the R hand. Draw & shoot L pistol, done.....Well thats my plan & I'm stickin' to it.  ;D ;D ;D......Wild Ben Raymond

I think that I would start with rifle first.  Table is on left of me as I stand backwards.  Rifle is staged closest to me then shot gun just the other side of it.  Turn and pick up rifle first cause it is loaded and less movement while moving.  Set rifle down on the other side of shotgun,  with right hand.  Draw left pistol shoot and then when putting left pistol away with left hand pick up db shotgun with right hand while grabbing two shells from the belt with my left.  Load and shoot shotgun targets.  When done set shot gun down close to edge of table with left hand while going for your right pistol and drawing.  Finish the stage with your strong hand and have less chance for mistakes when you are tired.  This is for a right handed shooter if left handed start it all just the opposite.

From the Gabby position Left pistol first, reholster while picking up rfle with right hand. Lay rifle down at same time pick up shotgun while you are down there, load on way up, shoot shotgun, lay shotgun down while drawing right pistol, engage with pistol.

This way you only go up or down 3 times for your long guns. if you shoot it rifle pistol shotgun pistol you'll do it 4 times! If the guns are staged on a hay bale down low thats some extra time I'd rather not have.

I'd also lever my rifle when I get it sholdered, If I AD  its on target. Never seen an AD hit the right target when levered on the way up. IMHO ;)

Based on my experence shooting the last rew years, and keeping in mind that the quickest ways to shoot this stage have been stated already, the following ih most likely how I would wind up shooting this stage.

Starting in the Gabby position, at the beep, I would first turn and face the targets, left foot slightly forward of the right foot, pull my left pistol and shoot it left handed at the aproporat targets, missing about 3 of them.  Then, looking down at my left holster, I would make several attempts to reholster the pistol, eventualy getting it in the  holster, Then I would pick up my rifle and lever the first shell as the  rifle was comming up to my shoulder and aim at the first rifle target, upon hearing a "Click" insted of a "Bang" at the first shot, I would then take the safety off that got engaged when I staged the rifle on it's left side and recock the hammer to shoot the first round. As my rifle is a 45Colt loaded with APP loads, and the wind probibly ain't blowing, the targets would dissapear on the second or third shot, allowing me to have time to tell the RO the first line of a cowboy joke, when I could see the targets again, I would continue shooting with a pause after every 3rd or 4th shot to complete the joke to the RO. Upon finishing the rifle string, and the joke, and having missed several of the rifle targets, I would lay the rifle back on the table with my right hand and pick uo my SxS with the same hand, attempting to grab 2 shotgun shells with my left hand at the same time. Trying to quickly load the 2 shells into the SxS I would fumble and drop at least one of them, causing me to grab another with my left hand and finish loading the SxS. I would then engage the shotgun targets, hideing them in a huge cloud of white smoke and attempt to reload and engage again till the  targets were completed, droping a few loaded shells on the way.  Lay the shotgun back on the table and move my left foot slightly to the  rear draw my right pistol and engage the remaining pistol targets as the smoke allowed me to see them.

I should be able to shoot a simple stage like this in about 55sec. with only a few misses, this is a "One Joke to the RO" stage, short enough I don't have to tell two jokes as I'm shooting.

Thank you all,  yes, I'm done now.

Seriously I would shoot it L Pistol, rifle, Rt Pistol, SxS,  I shoot DD with APP loads in FCD.

Sidekick

I would shoot my left pistol first then my shotgun and rifle and end with my right pistol.
