Big Lube Groove for 38-40

I'm currently using 250gr PRS bullets in my .45s.  In the future I'd like to load .38-40 with Black Powder.  Does someone make a .401 bullet with a large lube groove or is there a mold that will produce a large lube groove for a .401 bullet.

At one time someone started a list of folks that wanted a big lube groove 38-40 bullet BUT there were not enough who wanted one to get a special order from LEE together .   I would also like such a mold . I have the other 3 that were made ( The PRS .45 and the MAV .44 and the Snakebite .38 ) and are all great designs . Maybe someone will try it again . If anyone does PLEASE count me in .

If you will contact LEE they will make the mold fer ya, no problem. It would be very simple for them to reduce the dimensions of the original PRS design to 38-40 size. But you will have to pay the set-up fee, about $100.00, and the price of the mold itself too. Total would be about $165.00 That's actually a pretty good price for a custom mold, but lead time is about 3 months.

LIke Cuts said, you don't need the 20 mold minimum, you'll just have to pay the set-up fee, if you can get a handfull of people who want the molds to spread out the S-U fee it wouldn't cost much more than the free S-U way. JMO

I was n that wanted one, still do.  Anyway-ordered a custm mold to test some theories, if it pans out I'll start over with a mold request from Lee

I don't cast but if this one works as good as the other PRS ones I want in I can learn to cast
