Hey looky there. He's got that same belly-pinching belt buckle I noticed in the Scout garb thread.

Congratulations Col. Well done.

Del,
I think that is awsome!! Terry does us all proud by the way he presents himself, alot of dignity and class!! Pat and I stopped in Oakley Kansas, the birthplace of William Cody on the way up to the Black Hills last month and she took these photos, I thought Terry might like to see them.....

Since my wife brought me out of the coal oil powered computor age and updated to modern I can do some of this stuff like this.  The paper was layin' on the desk at work. ;D

Sadly, because of the way things always work out, I've never seen his show, hear it's good.  Was within a 1/4 mile one night, but I had to clean up the cook camp before dark.

Thanks everybody,
it was a nice to be able to do that show, 'specially on the Fourth in Seward. Thanks for the photos Bill, they're great. Looks like I've just contracted to do a different kind of show, and don't snicker. Sept. 1 thru Sept. 17, I'll be playing Col. Cody in a local production of the stage play "Annie Get Your Gun". I even get to sing and dance a little, I probably won't want those reviews posted. Heck, I've got the wardrobe and the firearms, I might as well use them. Not a historic presentation, but should be interesting. Take care.

Terry, nice review.  Thanks Del and Bill.

Terry my mother played Annie in "Annie Get Your Gun"  When I was a boy.  I saw it a bunch of times but I always thrilled at it.   He rifle was an 03 Training rifle that my uncle gave me when he came home from the war.  I sure wish I had that today. :(

Was just wondering, OCB is showing a road sign for Buffalo Bill's birthplace in KANSAS?  All the information I ever read on Col. Cody said he was born in Scott County, Iowa.  Mayber Terry can fill us in with the proper information!
Your friends might get me in a rush, but not before I turn your head into a canoe, ya understand me?

Terry Lane

Wiley and all,
the Col. was born in Scott County, Iowa. The sign Bill posted says "Birthplace of the Legend", his legend as a noted slayer of bison began in that area. Take care.

Iowa,
I'm not sure exactlly what is meant by birthplace of the legend?? It could mean that this is where he started his career as Buffalo Bill. The fella that was there was the builder of the cabin on the monument site and wasn't sure himself and he lives there. The sign is to the entrance of the site and not on the road. From what I understand, it is a fairly new site and the area around the monument is still under construction. The detail in the monument is awesome.

Yes, it's just up the road a piece from me.....near LeClaire. The house and grounds are mainted by the county & open to the public. I've done live-fire exhibition and blank firing demos in the backyard & shot some 19th C. "bull" with our local "BB"....Nice fellow, but he needs to bone-up a bit more on the subject (last we met).

Nice work Terry, you do us proud!
