INVITATION FROM THE KANSAS MUSEUM OF HISTORY

The museum has asked if persons in Western Action Shootings (NCOWS, SASS, GAF, etc) would attend the Sundown Film Festival events to create "atmosphere" during the movie showings.  We are planning to have promotional material set up at a table about WAS and are working on gathering material about NCOWS, SASS and GAF - an equal opportunity table - and some ambience items as well.

The Blazing Guns and Rugged Heroes, Kansas in Westerns is a special exhibit in the museum and they will be showing silver screen classics on the wall outside on the following Fridays:

July 14 Movie:  Red River (1948)
July 21 Movie:  Dodge City (1939)
July 28 Movie:  The Harvey Girls (1946)
Aug. 4 Movie:  The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976)

There will be free admission to the museum, 5-9 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs.  The movies starts at sundown (approx. 9 p.m.)  Refreshments will be sold.  There will be drawings for prizes - must be present to win.

Contact Chantilly at newton2@kansas.net if you are available (and will be in the vicinity) to attend any of these dates and also is you have any ideas about "promotional activities" for a table (or two).  This would be a very good opportunity to get information out to the public and have fun while doing it!!!  DOES GAF HAVE A BROCHURE???  IF SO, I'D LIKE TO GET A COPY (I'M WILLING TO GET COPIES MADE).

As the museum is on state grounds, NO KNIVES OR FIREARMS ARE ALLOWED!  However, persons in period attire with bubbling personalities and/or the gift of gab and willingness to share our world with others are wanted (that should cover everyone!!)!

 Chanilly,
Have you talked to the museum  about carrying? If you havent yet, Might ask about C&B only. Many don't consider them real guns. That is probably why  Mike was able to do it. They were using muzzle loaders.     jt

I have not been able to connect with the right person.  There are four dates, with the first being tomorrow night.  We are going to put our guns in the car just in case but not counting on being able to wear or display unless a miracle happens tomorrow.  But we're taking them just in case.  Hopefully, we will be able to nail this down before the next Friday night.
