I have a skillet that looks different and don't know what it is for. Anyone know what the purpose of it is?

Looks like it's either made to have a lid or to double as one for something else.

That's what I kinda thought.

It's a Chef's skillet fer sauting in, notice the more gentle sloped sides, the rim helps keep ya from sloppin' on the stoves and you Gently saute the fungus or what ever.
