By the way, my posted images are 140 - 250 KB so if you want to save them to print out they will do fine up to a 4 x 6 print, if you want to go larger PM with your address and I can send you the original jpg which is huge and should be good for up to 11 x 14 on a reasonable printer designed to print photos.

Bill, nice job of aging the photo for Clint.  That's our cabin.  Thanks for removing the Gatoraide bottle.  I was using it to put my used brass in during the shoot and didn't realize I had left it out until I saw Clint's photo. :-[

Here's a couple more..... Thats my son William on the left of me, even with the 67 pounds I've lost I'm still a pretty big guy, my son William a lot bigger and broke seven state high school weight lifting records, six of which still stand. He did a true squat of over 600 pounds....still makes me cringe.... He takes after his mother fortunately with the nordic features where as my daughter Margaret takes after me....I don't know a if thats good or bad....

Bill

Larry Gardner on my right and James Hunt on my left. I've lost so much weight, I can actually see my gun butt and belt buckle now, when I look down...really a refreshing feeling.....

QuoteThanks for removing the Gatoraide bottle.  I was using it to put my used brass in during the shoot and didn't realize I had left it out until I saw Clint's photo. Embarrassed
I Will.....Now we all know what was in that bottle, and it wasn't your dirty brass. I thought it best to remove it incase someone from the roving safety committee might question its contents. ;) ;)

Joss,
Yea, you're probably right...the photo doesn't do Will justice...he looks like a young stud bull...not the kind you'd want to get upset..... He chased down a burglar when he was still in high school, had to climb up in the top of a tree after him and jerked him out to the ground, needless to say the culprit couldn't move after the fall.

Come to find out that there was an outstanding warrant on him, for rape and a buglary the same morning. The State Police scoulded him for his actions telling him he could have been hurt (you know how an adrenaline rush can take over), ...and then patted him on his back.

James,

I have to agree, that is one very FINE jacket.  Sound like you need to be careful who you wear it around.  Someone else may also think that theft is the sincerest from of flattery!! ;D ;D ;D  Ya wouldn't want to wake up with a head ache and no jacket. :o ::)

I obviously don't have much to say aobut any bald spot. :P :o ;D

A passle of good memories!

Irish Dave: I have no idea who that person is in my jacket! Must have let someone try it on for size.

French Jack: Do you have Ralph's number? I think I left my bottle of Rogaine in the shower.

Thanks for the nice comments about my jacket, I wish I could say that I made it as Bill and others have made much of their clothing. But sewing skills? I lack. I got the jacket from a guy who sews for Northwest Traders in Ohio (the people who sell blankets and blanket products) at the K-Zoo history fair. It is supposed to be a copy of one worn by a spanish official during the purchase procedures of the Louisiana Territory from the French as painted by an artist whose name I forgot (so much for my documentation skills - if anyone can fill in that blank I'd appreciate it) who was there. As far as I know this was the employee's little enterpirse and is not an item available from the company. The jacket is of wool and the lining a rather fine cotton or linen material (I forgot that too).

I sorta have that bug to see my persona venture down into spanish territory becuase I really like the clothing styles, saddles, spurs, etc. It got a little further nudge when I chanced upon some Mexican 2 pc forged spurs, and then nearly went over the top when Bill let me try on his hat and said I looked good in it, it felt good too, in fact I wore it long enough that he had to threaten me to get it back. Since my persona worked for Crook in the disasterous Rosebud venture, perhaps I can convince him to take me along as a mule packer when he moves to engage the Apache in the southwest. Hey, maybe I'll even bump into OCB if I get a chance to see some scouts. Might even get into Indian territory later and bump into Marshall Ingram.

James,
That hat is called the Pistoleer, from Knudsen Hats at Golden Gate Western Wear (KnudsenHats.com), It is 10X Beaver with a 6 1/2" brim and a 6" crown. When I got it last year it was around $260.00. If you order one, tell them you want it in an open crown and then you can shape it yourself. Otherwise it comes with a Montana Peak with four Mule Kicks in it. The colors are Black and Pecan.

Bill: thanks, I was looking at a Hat called the Tuscon from River Junction Trade, 5 1/2 inch crown with 6 inch brim, 10x for $250 I think but I'll look into Knudson Hats now. I really like the way yours looked on you. Have a good trip.

James Hunt sent me this photo and it will be the last one (I'll bet your all glad of that!), until we get back from Oklahoma and South Dakota in two weeks. Feel free to keep posting pics. This was our camp site at the Nationals this year. From the left, thats my daughter Margaret, her husband Austin (he's from Texas), my wife Patty, and me. This is Austin and Margaret's first NCOWS shoot and they are two of our newest members.

RCJ, Austin is a real Texan (hence the name), grew up around cattle. He's got all the gear and wants to do this as much as he can...he thought when he came it would be all cowboys, movie types and howdy doody types that the OTHER venue embrasses and was pleasently suprised. He was pretty impressed by you....except that you didn't shoot the originals category this year..... ;) ;)
