Thank you, Mike I'm fan of 45ACP too.
I have 3 1911's including an Ithica WW II
 issued to William Roberts B-26 pilot in 1945.

I also happen to have several vintage Military 9mm's in my modest stewardship.
* Erfurt (1917)   Luger P08
* Walther P38 1944 German Military issue
   both are WW II bring backs
* And an MAB PA 15 circa 1964 French Military Contract trials
   purchased in the USA Hockenheim PX in 1965 (no import marks)

the only " Modern" 9mm I have is the EMP

I seem to be in some sort of In B Twix, nothing lately to feed the fervor.
  This thread thrives on our acquisition-isms.

I mentioned in another thread that " I get almost as giddy on "new gun day" for someone else's harvest as I do for my own (almost)

My late friend  :'( (miss you John) and I would meet every Saturday, we stop in at our Friends LGS and then have lunch somewhere.
Sometimes we just shoot the S*it and window shopped,
but often he or I would find something to take home.
I was just as tickled when he found a gem. Next time maybe, it was me and so it went...

Many times, John and I traded between ourselves.

My very last trade with John, just a few days before his passing.
My MAB PA 15 French NATO trials 9MM.
John acquired it in Hockenheim at the US Military PX in northwest Baden-Württemberg, Germany in 1969 or 70.

A small number of these were imported later in the 80's by Howco Distributing Co and would be import stamped this one is not and is in the military configuration.

It is unique pistol and quite special to me, I thought you might enjoy a revisit.

I know you guys work at gunstores so you are constantly presented with opportunities that are hard to resist.   :)

Almost every gun I've bought in the last few years was one I intended to purchase.  It's been a year since I bought one that I just happened across (Coyote Cap full race '97). (The Pietta '58's I won don't count) So I guess the Cavalry I just bought was sort of another impulse.  Certainly wasn't looking for one but Sgt Drydock made me an offer I couldn't refuse.  ;D  (posted in Colt Clones forum).

The Deacon is so selected :) , I am not. :(
 I do in fact have a friend that owns a LGS, and goodies do come in.
Primarily though, the store is Modern stock, Semis's & CCW Etc.

Sometimes, I get called in when something is in my wheelhouse.
And have in the past, got first dibbs on older cool and vintage stuff.

Quote from: pony express on August 08, 2024, 06:37:46 PMIs that one of the batch recently imported from Ethiopia? I got one a few years back, it was the short TS carbine. Was in pretty good shape for being stored for years in Africa.

Noticed I never answered your question - no it's not from Ethiopia (does your's have an A.O.I. stamp on the buttstock)?  Mine has no import markings.

Some of the younger folks here might recognize this rifle from the RED DEAD REDEMPTION game.

Their rendition is more like your TS than the bog standard 1891 infantry rifle.
