Another month shot,Time soon for soup, stews and chili

Weird awaking this morning...
"SHE" is in Jacksonville with her sister visiting grandniece & Nephew.

So, I heard a noise, not sure if I indeed really heard something or dreamt it 
Half-awake eyes, I find my way down the hall...
Dogs greet me, with the "O'Boy get to go out bounce & dance".
so, I deactivate the ADT and "WE" head for the door (understand dogs have not barked, though the little shiatzu is somewhat unusually very shadowy.
I peer out and see Nada...no sound, clear starry sky (so it was prolly not thunder)
Revolver in hand I open the French door, and the dogs happily sashay out to the porch screen door, which after glance about I open and let the dogs.
Indeed, it was me "who let the dogs out" ! 
If you read this far, you're not going to know what that noise was 

cause I still don't  unless it was the "CRACK o DAWN and the dogs did not care!

OK so I'll push the button already, and perk the coffee.

Presently, clear and 88° seems summer has taken the day off for Labor Day.
 Scattered light rain showers are expected and breezy.

OH yeah ! been there  None the worse for ware, but most exciting and stressful while it is happening.
Glad it had a happy conclusion.


 

Just got back in town last night from Texas and caught up on the news here...
Del, I cannot say how sorry I am for your loss, prayers are going up for you.

Micah and I shot the Service Six and Mod 66 with .38 Spl, .38 Spl +P and .357 Mag out to 40 yards at 8"x8" steel. Sometimes it was 2"x8" or less because they would pivot to the right.

Evening all, consider the coals stirred, the biscuits warmed and the coffee reheated.

Spent the day with the family, burning burgers. Went to the lake, and ended up getting a kayak dropped on my from the roof of my brother's Jeep. I can't claim to be old, but it seems like that type of thing hurt less at 18

Speaking of horses exploring the neighborhood, at the barn yesterday one of the critters got away from the farrier and took a stroll. Went right to the neighbor's hay barn like he owned the place. Easy enough to catch at least.

Started my 63rd trip round the Sun today with coffee and messages from family. LadyC took me to a delicious late lunch and a bit of shopping. Beautiful day, as a matter of fact, the whole week is supposed to be nice.

Got down to the mid 60s last night and heading for upper 80s today. Slept late, changed a couple of light bulbs in the laundry room, had never seen two circular fluorescent bulbs like those before. Hope you are all doing ok, continued prayers for Delmonico and his family from here.
