I had a fun incident at a SASS Regional this month.  Looking across the Posse, my rifle is unique.  A 1873 with a Beech Front Sight and a Marbles Tang Sight with the diopter removed. It works for me with my eyesight.

After the second or third stage, the TO/Posse Marshall queried me about my sights. Completely SASS Legal, but not common.   

The take away for both of us is to review the rules each time BEFORE a big match and verify your knowledge.

It never ceases to amaze me just how much some folks don't know.  In tune with that, it also never ceases to amaze me how some folks who "don't know" will simply make up a rule and then try to "Bully" you with it.  "They" try to hide the fact of never actually reading the rule book.

It was more of a quiet question after the run, non confrontational. He was okay with my assurance that they were legal.

Yep, I was recently threatened with a match DQ because I asked a question. What I asked about would have been a "P" certainly not a MDQ.  Total Butthead.

Never ceases to amaze (heard that somewhere else??) how those Whom are possibly wrong, resort to threats and intimidation to prevent further challenge.  My next question would have been to the Match Director and if your antagonist was the Match Director, I'd be seeking a different Venue you betcha

I later talked to the MD. I have known him for years. He said the guy was out of line.
