I just read yesterday an article about Colt collecting,  I  think it said some had the hole in the end and some didn't. I think if you find a Colt part in the condition you want it's gonna cost you!  Good luck.

Well, been fighting a bug most of the week, but think I've got it on the run. Supposed to be wet the next few days with the temps running in the 50s. The Missus has all the rest of the gifts wrapped and the tree looks real nice. Back to work tomorrow then Christmas week! May God bless you all my friends!

Gunsmithing / SAA Cylinder Base Pin

Where can I get a correct original Colt style base pin for my EMF (Armi San Marco) Hartford model with old black powder style screw type pin retainer? I need one that is blued and in great shape because my 1994 made gun is unfired. I believe this should have a hole in the middle of the head but somebody correct me if I'm wrong please. Anybody maybe have one to spare?

We're having Christmas day at our house again and did some shopping today at the nearby Amish Market. This is the best food market we've ever shopped at. Their meat, seafood, produce and bakery departments are awesome.

I posted this thread over on the M14 forum last month and wanted to share it over here also. There are too many photos to try and recreate it so here is a link to that thread. https://www.m14forum.com/threads/u-s-military-black-powder-metallic-cartridge-breech-loading-rifles.546515/

I did a display and presentation for the American Society of Arms Collectors at our fall meeting in September this year. The linked thread has photos of the display that included 34 rifles as well as accroutements, and period photos. The first post also has an attached .pdf file of my power point presentation about the various arms trials, make sure you read it also.

I think that the only one who makes Uberti Chamber dies is CH4D.
