Wonder which rifle would win: Pedersoli Sharps or an Uberti High Wall, both in .45-70, with good BP handloads and with same-quality tang sights.
I don't know but I bet the High Wall would kick harder. ;D
The High-wall has a shorter lock-time than the Sharps, so should in theory come out on top.
But the big, clunky Sharps with its side-mounted hammer is such an icon, I wouldn't trade my two for a pallet full of High-walls...
The Sharps is indeed truly iconic, and a real "buffalo rifle." I've had a couple of Pedersolis over the years and they were capable of greater accuracy than I was by a "long shot" -- sorry.
Still, if the darned Uberti Cimarron High Wall in .38-55 had a faster twist than 1:18, it would be tempting at about 40 percent less money.
