A long awaited Muster in the Division of Texas is being planned for March 29th and 30th 2025. The Muster will be sponsored by the Willow Hole Cowboys club located in North Zulch, TX. The range is located about 20 miles west of Madisonville, which is about 2-1/2 hours south of the Dallas area. Lodging is available at several hotels in Madisonville. I've stayed at the Day's Inn there, and can recommend it. I'm working to get to get other recommendations.
The Muster will include two skirmishes, a long range rifle and precision pistol match. Hopefully, these can be completed on the first day, and we can have a "fun" shoot on Sunday the 30th....the WHC rifle range has targets out to 600 yds!
I will post more details in the near future. In the meantime should you have any questions/comments, please contact me via phone or e-mail.

Good idea, I left the premises before Memorial Day this year. I highly recommend it. I'll plan on being there.
Later
Darn: That conflicts with the St :-[ ate Wild Bunch Match.
It's on my calendar, I know some of Div of Iowa will be there maybe all of us.

Shoot...I will check with you on the next one so we don't conflict!
If I were ever going make a Muster it might be this is the closes to drive.
@ 1,049 miles.
or maybe fly into Houston :-\
Roger:
I am real close only 485 miles from here and I am in Texas
Joe, I've made the trip to Tejas by road trip many times and several more by flight.
Houston is a two-day road trip.
Infact from where I'm at, Pensacola FL. alone is 7.5 hours by interstate 10.
Bringing my Krag and side arm, I will have to look in the logistics, should I try a flight. What with security and regulations etc.
Cost factor VS serious desire to attend.
I understand when we have pulled the trailer to GA and SC at Christmas, by the time we have finished with family and friends, it is over 2000 miles home if we were to pull down into Florida to spend a few days in your area and hang out with you. We are usually too tired and just head home the shortest route which is 1538.

AWSOME!!
Good Folks,
Here's a link to the registration.
DIv of TX Muster Spring 2025 (https://willowholecowboys.com/gaf-texas-muster/)
It is a two-day event. The first day (Saturday) will be 2 skirmishes, long range and precision pistol. BBQ for lunch. The second day will be a Sharpshooter points match to at least 400 yds, so bring your long range rifle (lead bullets only). Cold cut sandwiches on Sunday.
Round count for main match is 75 rifle, and 30 sidearm, and 30 for the Sharpshooter match.
Lodging is available in Madisonville, and Bryan-College Station.
On-site tent and trailer camping is available, but no facilities.
If you plan to bring a camper trailer or motorhome please let me know in advance, as there is limited spacing for these.
Call me or e-mail with any questions.

Good Folks,
The time is near! I have about 10 folks that have contacted me and they plan to come to the muster. Any more??
Troy
Troy,
I see a "lead bullets only" note after the second day sharpshooter long range match. Does this lead only restriction also apply to the Saturday Long Range Rifle event? I would shoot my normal main match category, Military Handgunner with lead bullets but when I shoot long range at a Grand Muster I normaly use jacketed soft point rounds in my Krag on the AR500 steel targets. Will this be a problem?
Thanks
Bat
Bat,
It is lead only for all matches.
Troy
Folks,
The Muster is in a few weeks. I ask that if you let me know by Friday March 14th if you plan to attend, and you have not previously contacted me or sent in your registration.
So far, there are 13 folks on the roster...not that I'm superstitious, or anything...

Man, this will be on my list for next year. Things did not quite work out for this year, but hope to get in a lot more shooting as my retirement firms up. Good luck to all!
Wish I could make it! Wooly Dan promised to tell me everything. Drydock, congrats on upcoming retirement. Poets say Love is the most beautiful word in language. They are wrong, it is retirement.
Drydock....I highly recommend retirement!
Hopefully, I'll see you sometime this year. I have a couple of weddings to attend. One is my oldest son's on the weekend of the Grand Muster.
Troy
Mogorilla,
You will be missed too!
We (Miss Red, Pappy, Doc, Willie, and the grand dog Zoe) set targets last week.
There are 33 rifle targets: 16 on one skirmish and 17 on the other. And, there are 9 sidearm targets: 4/5. The rifle targets range from 40 to 60 yrds with most of them being around 50 yds.
There may be some minor changes before the first shot, but this is the basic idea.
Good Troy...
Good Troy,
Jack, Dani and I will be leaving after work two weeks from now should see you 2:00 ish on Friday the 28th. Sorry to hear you were not be at Jerry's this June. You would have thought the father of the groom would have had little pull LOL.

Looking forward to seeing you all soon!
This will be the first year I will not attend the GM since I started going in 2016.
Mary's daughter is getting married overseas on the Monday following the BRR Rukus. I will miss the Rukus as well...I think this would have been my 4th in a row.
And it continues...My daughter got engaged last month, and will likely wed in 2026.
As much as I would like to continue with my annual treks to Nebraska this year, I think it best I keep my mouth shut!
On the upside, I am considering making it to the Spring Iowa Muster. We'll talk about it when I see you at the end of the month.
