Forum looks different. Saw the other day that it'd be down for maintenance. For me, I'm one who likes things the way they were, like an old pair of boots vs new ones. Probably get used to it as have had to with other forums when they changed their looks, but if me, myself, and I could change it back, I would.
It was necessary, the old server had hack issues.
New Machines format is used by many off the Gun Boards.
I know the S&W board & Colt Board do.
This format is a lot easier to read when I check it on my phone. The old format had tiny font. So while things are a little different, overall I am liking the change for that reason.
It's still pretty tiny on my Android phone. I miss the icons on the forums home page. I used to look for a certain picture, now I have to actually read the words. :) Sometimes progress has its price.
Size wise it's pretty small on my cell phone also, a Samsung S23 Android as they were on my old Apple SG. Switched over to Android around 15 months ago, regret it. I still have to enlarge text quite a bit to read which is why on neither phone I never follow the handfull of gun forums I frequent. With you Abilene, always used the avatar picture for quick ID of the different departments on the home page. :-\
I'm not one for change either, but in all honesty, after a minute, I don't remember what the old look looked like. So I'm good.
It is different, but I'll get used to it.
Another, unrelated forum I used to be on made a server upgrade and a few other updates. The new format is so flashy that it looks like the circus has come to town and navigating through the various subjects is almost impossible. I gave up several months ago and have never been back.
Just one problem, where is the "LIKE" button?

I think I'm starting to get use to it. Sorta. Almost. I've always thought I could, given enough time, learn anything. So, I'll not whine nor complain at this point.
Must admit, it (the new and improved site) looks rather good. Especially after I figure out it ain't gonna Bite me.

Looks pretty dull and lifeless without the small pictures in front of each department. That double blue/yellow figure what ever it is makes the forum look like a bag of M&M's of all one color. How about it Marshall, couldn't someone with good 'putor skills re-add the icons of before to each department or something related to each department to give the forum some color?
I agree Crow Choker. That Icon looks like a rather small brain trying to bet into a rather large football helmet. Plus I liked the descriptive icons to make it easier to find my favorite sections.

Ya the 'Like' button would be nice, better yet one of the choice's ya see on other forums with choice of 'like, laughing or smiley face, heart, etc. Still need similar or other pictures (in color) in front of the various departments. Looks blah, dull, and listless as it is now. Good grief Coffinmaker, adding them back again wouldn't involve any relearning, study, or computer needed high-jinks in getting around the forum. You musta had yer going against the grain hat Ol' Curmudgeon hat on when ya posted #14. ;D
