Well, another month gone, CAS Season is getting shorter.
By Gum Major, you jumped the gun!

July has 31.
At least the internet sez it is still July 31.

Morning y'all.

Good morning and a blessed August fron "Arkansauna". Supposed to hit 100 today, Heat Index of 112. And I'm drinking hot coffee? Y'all have a good one.
Good morning! We finally got some rain here in Southeast Kansas last night. 3 digit temps in the days ahead.
Another day in the office and I'm ready to conquer the world of media.

That's a very impressive setup you have there. Mine pales in comparison. I'm an amateur website builder and do websites for some of our local clubs. Here is a website I built to relate my experiences with Cowboy Action Shooting: https://www.johnnymccrae.com/Cowboy-Action-Shooting.html
It was here on CAS City in 2006 where I discovered the fine sport of Cowboy Action, SASS, NCOWS and how to do leather working.
Thank you for CAS City.
Johnny,
You do have a nice setup.
I mostly do video production/editing and video & streaming management for the networks which require a lot more "juice" and multimedia capabilities.
And if I need a break, I can move over to the other side of the studio and do some reloading.
Good to see you Marshal, hope things are going well for you. Haven't heard much from M'ette lately. Hope she didn't get into any of her crazy hijinks again. Thank for CASCity and the CAS-l before it.
We're both doing great. M'ette has taken a break from CAS and focused her time on Sporting Clays and as a CCW instructor for Kansas residents.
Not much time for me to do much shooting, but I have signed up for the Nationals in OKC later this fall.
Sent this to my brother, told him it missed me again. ;D
Between the trailers, I was on the couch just to the left.
Never been hit by lightening, but had some close calls. ::)
That looks like fun, Del.
Slim
The were standing in their driveway because the rain had not started yet,, the dry concrete might have saved them.
Those are the folks that mow my lawn.
I knew a guy in High School, was struck by lightning and survived.
What was strange is he could play the piano by ear (could not read music), after being struck and had never played piano before :o
Looking some scary for the weekend, guessers are all over place...
Will Invest 97L become Tropical Storm Debby (likely) or a hurricane?
is Fl. in the cross hairs or "N'awlins" and how bad ? ???
Just discovered the real damage, was worried about computer and wifi, fine, came back up. Seems to have fried the motherboard for the oven. They will try to replace the stove tomorrow, they have them in stock but they are busy with stuff. Guess they got a limb through a roof and lots of other stuff.
Morning y'all.
Coffee and iced tea are ready.
We had a frog drowning late afternoon. Rained off and on most of the night.
Finished the holster. I'll post pictures.
'Tis 66 and sunny. "Very warm and humid. Sunny. Patchy fog in the morning. Highs in the upper 80s. Light and variable wind becoming north 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon."
Slim
They came and looked at the stove again, got on the net and you have to hold the clock button down 30 seconds. New type stove, they thought it was funny and wrote it down so they could let everyone know.

I came up with a somewhat similar for my backup truck gun.
Since it is a backup, does it make that beeping sound to let everyone in the state it is a backup? ;D
Oh and nice work on both of them!
My desk, got some more work to do need get the cable for the 3rd monitor.
Junk mail catalog for a big coaster, flip pages to clean it. by the time it's used up another dozen will come.
Spiral note pad for mouse pad, grap pencil and write notes and flip pages till I need a new on, got several around here.
Morning y'all.
Coffee and iced tea are ready.
Working on deck and change oil in Suburban this morning. Working security at church for a funeral in the afternoon.
'Tis 71 and sunny. High of 87 and sunny.
Slim
We are getting Light rain showers and 11 MPH breezes from the out flow now.
There was short heavy rain about noon that pasted through my Hood, off and on showers since then.
The storm, still Tropical Depression # 4, but expected to upgrade into Tropical Storm Debby tonight.
The good news for us is, its swinging a bit further west, which means the impact here is lessened.
It's expected to bring heavy rainfall to Fla., Ga. South & North Carolina through Wednesday.
Just when it might strengthen to a hurricane is still unknown. :-\
Micah changed the oil and filter.
I finished the deck.
BTW, Micah turned 19 years old, today. Birthday party at 1800. Y'all are invited.
Slim
Tropical Storm Debby was named at 5PM this afternoon.
Now on track to become Category 1 Hurricane Debby near the Big Bend before landfall.
We'll get LOTS of rain but dodge the cone of damaging winds though tornado warnings are posted.
Evening all. Quiet day today at the LGS, I did pick up a very clean Ruger Mini-30 today. Gonna go over my lesson for Sunday School tomorrow and call it a night. Y'all be good and Slim wish Micah a Happy Birthday from here.
Morning y'all.
Coffee and iced tea are ready.
'Tis 65 and sprinkling. "Humid. Partly sunny with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs in the middle 80s. Light and variable wind. Chance of rain 20 percent."
Slim
Thanks for the coffee,
Calm before the storm, was just partly cloudy at sunrise, 83° currently.
Debby has not completely turned north, so its further west off the coast in the Gulf.
Still on track to landfall in the Big Bend area, and move over south Georga and in the Atlantic as a Cat. 1
Hurricane.
Other than a rain event I expect little disruption.
NCOWs pards in SC and Baltimore Ed are in the cone though :( wishing them good luck.

Morning y'all.

Rained overnight. Field ditches are over full.
'Tis 53 and cloudy. "Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers in the morning then mostly sunny in the afternoon. Highs in the lower 70s. Northeast wind 10 to 20 mph with gusts to around 30 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent."
Slim
The storm did intensify to 90 MPH @ landfall.
Light impact here although we did see some minor gusts, still a little breezy @ 12 to 18 mph
Rain amounts 1.32 inches in the county, with no standing water at my place.
It pales to what's happening up in west upper State and GA. & S. Carolina. :(
Record-setting rain up there is causing flash flooding, with up to 30 inches of rain and it still falling.
Morning all, hope everyone stays safe in all this. Hit 101 yesterday and supposed to be hotter today, then moderating a bit for a few days. The Missus will be home from her trip tomorrow afternoon/evening, this house is sure quiet when she's gone.
Supposed to hit 80 today.
Dr appointment at 20.
Morning y'all.

Howdy folks, Still sunny here, hit 99 yesterday, supposed to be between 88 and 85 today. Huh? Anyway cooling towards the weekend with rain coming in too. Hope y'all have a great day and pray for those getting clobbered by these storms.

Good morning everyone. The Missus got in last night from her trip to Virginia. Her and the girls had a good time with safe travels and she brought me a new ballcap! 78 here right now, only supposed to be 88 today! Woohoo! Our hummingbird feeders are really busy lately, we have about 7-8 different ones hanging around a lot of the day. Y'all take care and God bless.
Wife's plan may be dashed,
She was going to travel across State tomorrow to see her sister for the weekend.
However, someone at work posted positive for covid and then another is having symptoms. :-\
So now "SHE" will need to cover.
Air is on the fritz, went out last night, guy came our right away, needs freon so waiting for HVAC guy.
Better now than a few days ago!
Major, praying for your Missus.
Del, praying for your AC fix.
Been busy here catching up on "deferred maintenance" and other neglected/forgotten projects since retiring. Rebuilt a bunch of fence, still got a lot to do. I know-that should be a project for cooler months, but .... I didn't retire until the cool months were over. Still waiting for the Diesel shop to get through rebuilding the injector pump for my big tractor-it went out right after I retired. Lots of other things still to do, re-fixing all the stuff I didn't have time to fix right, back when I was working.

Greetings all. Long time, no see :o
Been doing a good impression of the proverbial headless chicken of late. Seems I went and made myself somewhat important at work, and now they won't let go of me. Done 350 hours of overtime since March, which doesn't include my hour long commute each way to work.
Just got home from dealing with the Park fire for almost 2 weeks. We weren't technically assigned to the fire, but instead were covering the local response area for the engines out of Chester. But we still got our fair share of fire time. On the 30th, we had a hairy situation that almost turned my crew into charcoal. I ended up with a first degree burn on my neck and face, which fortunately didn't require significant medical attention (the line medic slathered me up with aloe gel and that was it). Wreaked havoc on my mustache though.
I took a few days off from work now that I'm home, and me and the Mrs are going to the coast for the weekend. Going to visit the Trees of Mystery in the Redwood State Park, and spend some time combing the beach for whatever can be combed from the beach.
Y'all keep the greasy side of the wagon down,

I've often thought you were working the fires...I figured you were and too busy to chime in here.
Glad to see you back, and aside from a toasting you were unharmed.

Not much going on here.
"SHE" is over in Well worn (Melbourne) with her sister for the weekend...
I'm left to my own devises ;D
I harvested 6 jalapenos off my plants and made cream cheese stuffed, bacon wrapped Texas twinkles.
"SHE" has a bovine fit when I make them cause. "SHE" thinks they are bad juju....
I think in moderation and besides jalapeno peppers are a vegetable of sort.
Oh ! and I did calypso jerk sauce & rosemary baked wings...
"SHE" won't eat those either ::)
Stopped in late this afternoon at a small gun show here in northeast Nebraska. Talked from about closing time to about 15 minutes after closing with a pleasant gentleman who had a bunch of antique rifles and ammo. We had a nice chat.

Instant oatmeal with my coffee this morning.
Just Nuke some water, stir in a pat of "I can't believe it's not butter" ???
Actually, with just hint of any imagination, it is easy to believe it's not butter!
So, I went back and hit the stash of "HER" baking supplies, which she cloisters away in the NO MANS Land
area of the fridge...
Well, I told you she was not home ;D moo haha
So glad our cholesterol and sodium is not a problem. Need to be sorta careful on the sugar.
We both have some sort of cold, not bad, but annoying. Could be we don't know and don't care if it's the election flu. If it gets worse we'll go in. My Dr has a 7am-8pm walk in everyday including holidays. Takes my insurance, hers don't so she'd have to go to the ER with the unwashed masses. Nice thing about this whole mess is we almost always go right in do to the heart or cancer problems. Our hospital has 50 ER rooms and the west campus does also.
Working on pictures mostly. Got hers off her phone in a "lost" file. ::) I'm working on food pictures, want to get them so I can find quick using them for docs, rid of the duplicates. Keeping merged ones for later use.
Good afternoon all. Had good services at Church today, I taught the Men's and Ladies' Sunday School this morning, that's always a bit different. Had our Afternoon Service at 1PM, that's nice cause then we are finished for the day. A nap and now some coffee. Back to work tomorrow, I missed last week due to taking a fall Monday, landed on the soft part of my Right Knee on concrete. Hint, don't do that, trust me. Anyway the bruising is now shifting from deep purple to that greenish color. Goes all the way round the knee and about 12" above and below. Only got to 84 today, but can feel the rain getting ready to head in. Y'all be good.
Had a beautiful mid 70's summer day with a warm breeze here today. I mowed my lawn and picked up some of the limbs that came down from the remnants of Debbie, spent the rest of the day relaxing trying to get my back straightened out.
Morning y'all.

Morning all.
The site got a facelift it seems. Had to do some digging to find my login information ::)
I'm off to the metropolis of Alturas, Ca in about an hour. Seems they sent all their fire engines to the Boise fire to our west, so now they need people to cover their forest to the east. One would think that it would be easier to skip the middle man and just send us to the Boise, but maybe im thinking too hard.
Anyway, bacon and coffee are up. Y'all dig in.

Well it hit 103 here today, yeesh. A couple more days of this, so hanging out in the AC. Work tomorrow, glad the Boss keeps the place comfortable. Starting the builds on a couple of AR lowers, just to annoy the Communists.
I'm here, Spectrum had a major blip because someone cut a cable yesterday.
Hit 100 even today, work was sloooooow unfortunately. Got home the Missus made me a nice dinner, got my Sunday School Lesson done for tomorrow and some good news. Our cable provider, Optimum had been in a dispute with Bally Sports for a couple of months, so no Cardinals' ballgames. Well tonight I have baseball again!

As my good friend Major 2 says "when planets align...do the deal !"
Our local supermarket had Milwaukee's finest on sale for $16.99 per case ($.71 per 12 oz.can plus tax)
Most of the local bars and Restaurants are $4.50 plus per 12 oz. bottle. As they say, check the head on that one.
Howdy folks. Hope you all had a comfortable day. Back to work tomorrow and it's supposed to be a bit warmer back up into the 90s for a few days. Just took it slow the last couple of days, still letting the leg heal up from a fall 2 1/2 weeks ago. Anyhoo, y'all take care.

Should stop out here and get some local made on that are good on a plain bun with mustard, you don't have to hide them. ;D Always tell that to lost Chicagoians who complain we ain't got no Chicago place. ::)
Well, here is the scoop...Portillo's isn't up to the hype ::)
I'd give it 5 on 1-10 scale. eh? maybe 4, considering the fact the dog was bearly lukewarm at best... even though they are made to order with fresh poppy seed buns and fresh veg's.
even moderately HOT they weren't :( The onion rings? ::) I've had way better
Hey Coffinmaker. I suggest we do Willy's in-town again rather than Portillo's when you come back down. Having scouted Portillo's I probably won't go again.
Willy's is a solid 8 on the scale....
The quest continues for a # 10-hotdog establishment.

You seekers of hot dogs just need to come here, we'll cruise around all day from town to town, pick up some buns and mustard 'cause that is all you need. We'll go to our farm, build a fire of good hard wood and I'll let you cut a stick.

Beat on the side of the trailer, she came out, nope, she took dog in and brought out the walker, nope, then she brought the butcher knife and I cut the front nylon with out changing my voice and pulled it apart. Got out, legs are not strong anymore, that sepsis in my back kind of did that in.
