Morning everyone. Big day with work yesterday with a lot of anticipation. Now I can focus on other things for a while.
Had frost this morning, low was around 25, High should be about 49 and sunny.
Rita got the Watchman device yesterday to keep her from going into A Fib and to get her off blood thinners, supposed to get her in a couple hours when she calls.
Had to have the FD out at 5:30 yesterday morning because she tripped and fell. Got her up and got her to the car and they checked her out and got the OK for the surgery. Only damage is a bruise on the butt and my dust pan is in pieces. Good thing I took my anti-anzity pill about 5. ::) Was waiting and thought I thought I heard them pull up, (WE REQUESTED NO SIRENS FOR THE POOR DOG) and it was the garbage truck, we got a good laugh on that one. MRI with contrast tomorrow and discuss what next on Wed. Monday after that I have a cardio and am going to tell him I want to see about what ever new thing they have to fix my graft.

You need to look closely at the wound, clean and use antibiotic and wrap it with vet wrap.
Check it often... and reapply.
The thing is, it can develop and get infected (coon saliva etc.) and Sepsis can set in.
Sepsis may progress to septic shock. A dramatic drop in blood pressure that can damage the lungs, kidneys, liver and other organs. When the damage is severe, it can lead to death.

Morning folks, may God bless today. Del, you and Rita in the prayers here. Since the start of October has been a spate of minor weirdness around the place. Thankfully, nothing major, just enough to make life interesting. Anyway, 65 here right now supposed to hit 79 today with rain tomorrow and temps dropping. Hope it will be dry by Saturday so I can shoot. Work has been busy, main Deer Season starts Saturday so the shop is closed! Screwed up my back pretty good two weeks ago rescuing a fox who hung around here. I would throw him bits of hot dog when he came around. Anyway two Tuesdays past, I came out of my garage to find him trapped in one of those sticky traps used for bugs and mice, he had gone after a mouse trapped on it. If it had been anything but this little guy, I would have just put it down as both front paws and muzzle were really stuck in the pad. I grabbed some leather gloves and a moving mat, finally caught the little guy and while holding him down on the truck's tailgate, managed to get both paws free with out too much trouble, but his muzzle was completely stuck. SO I had to just rip the pad off like a big band aid! He tears loose and rips into the bed of the truck, quivering like a squirrel on meth. I go into the house and grabbed a bit of turkey to try to lure him out but he was already on the other side of the driveway, staring at me. Guess he was trying to figure out what just happened. Haven't seen the little guy since, hope he's okay and continues keeping the mouse population in check around here.
You are good man Sir.... There are those that would just blast him >:(
I don't care to associate with those types, mind you I'm not a card carrying PITA

My sincere condolences :'(

It happened about 3:30 AM and that is all that's reported so far.
Morning all.
Condolences for the dog, Major. That one hurts.
Been real busy out here the past few weeks. Doing a lot of prescribed fires in places that are just plain inconvenient to get to. We don't get hazard pay for prescribed fire, but do get OT as necessary, so I'll take it. And it's given me a lot of opportunity to complete my FireFighter 1 and Incident Commander Type 5 qualifications. Once I get those, I'll get promoted to GS-5, and also take over as Assistant Fire Engine Operator. So at least all my hard work will be fore something.
I'm on a 4 day weekend starting today. Considering I've worked almost 700 hours of overtime since May, it feels like an earned holiday.
In shooting news, I'm heading to the SLGS (Semi local gun store) on Saturday to send a new gun to California Gun Purgatory. I'm in the mood for a 44magnum, so we'll see what we can pull off. I'm leaning toward a S&W M29 4", or Ruger Super Blackhawk 5.5". I intend to use it for deer/bear hunting next year with Skeeter-esque 44Special loads (7.5 grains Unique, 225gr Barnes XPB bullet, should give about 950-1100fps). We'll see how that cookie crumbles.

Were it me I'd go with the Ruger, less money and does a 44 mag really need a double action?
Major, my condolences to you and to your family.
Looking at a lot of hours from now til May at the gunshop, hoping my back will hold up. Still no sign of the fox, hope he shows up again. Lady C ordered me a Victrola for my Christmas present, it showed up today and is really nice. Can't wait to dig out my old Christmas albums.

St. Cloud police
Jerry Brown is the CEO of The Gun Store in Downtown St. Cloud.
He says with roll-down shutters along the doors, crash prevention measures in the back of the store, and a significant security system, his building is very secure.
"This is one of the most secure buildings in all of Central Florida that does what we do," he said.
Around 3:30 in the morning Thursday, a car still managed to crash into the store.
"I pulled up a live feed from inside the store and I saw a car in the middle of the showroom," Brown said.
St. Cloud's Chief of Police, Douglas Goerke, tells us it was intentional.
"When officers arrived here, they arrived here very quickly, were able to get inside, and determine that a vehicle had actually driven inside," he said.
He says what happened before the crash is still being investigated.
What happened after is a lot of cleanup.
Brown says they're working quickly to enhance security even more and make repairs for the families that depend on it.
"This is tremendously hurting us, tremendously. We just went into season. It was a bad summer, not a lot of disposable income out there and the summer was as rough as they get and then this occurs right when we begin our season," Brown said.
Police tell us the driver of the SUV took their life after the crash.
If you or anyone you know is struggling, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline is available 24-7.
That number is 988.
The Police Substation located at 923 New York Ave, Saint Cloud, FL is literally, a block away on the same Street and the City Hall is another
50 yards away.
Police had to hear the crash and respond in one record hurry. :o

Evening all.
I now own a Ruger Super Blackhawk 5.5" Stainless model. The store didn't have any S&W revolvers in stock of any caliber. Maybe the single action will save me money on ammo, with the being slower to cock and all that. ::) I also picked up some components to feed the new beast, including brass (100 each magnum and special, Starline), some Barnes XPB bullets should I decide to carry this piece while hunting (CA nonlead ammo requirements for hunting), and dies.
Mrs TK and I had a pleasant Veterans/Armistice Day. I enjoyed my free cup of coffee from Starbucks, which I sipped while conversing with the commander of of the local VFW post. We then went for Mrs TK to ride her horse while I increased my gun collection. We then went to dinner at a local family owned diner, which is classic car themed. It's not every day that you get to eat a ribeye from a plate shaped like a hubcap while listening to Buddy Holly and enjoying professional photographs of showroom ready Studebaker, Packards, Corvettes and Roadrunners.

Rita had a Cat Scan and went to the cancer Dr (I can't spell Oncologist).
The tumor has not spread but has really not got smaller. Next step is a biopsy to see if it still has cancer cells. Dr says there is a good chance it does not, will go from there but maybe good news.
Her Watchman device seems to help a lot, I have not had to help her up out of a chair or similar since she got that done Nov 1st. It keeps her heart from A fibbing and will get her off blood thinners.
My Cardio Dr yesterday says everything is running fine again after the problem where Rita fell and I tried to hard to help her and ended up going in the ambulance 2 hours later on Sept 15th.
They said there was definitely not a heart attack but I was trying hard. I will not try to help Rita again if she actually falls, that and stress was what it likely was.
We discussed a new thing where they have a surgeon who would try to remove the plaque from the heart artery that the graft went done on. Looking over my cath lab video from January the Dr said there is no plaque so they still would not be able to stent it. I'll deal with what I have. But he said what ever my diet is must be working.

Cool, I hate it when it's really windy. It was more than that this morning but has died down.

Good day at Church today, our guest Preacher is an old friend, so getting to visit with him and his wife was a real treat. My boss at the LGS has been out with Covid, so we told him not to come back until he was completely well, even though we are short handed.
Morning all. I guess I'll stir the coals and get the coffee going.
Currently 33 with heavy fog, expected to be 55 and sunny through the day.
Had a long day yesterday doing horse things. While Mrs TK took care of the equestrians, I ran some errands (get gas, Tractor supply for grain and some other trinkets, etc), then came back and got roped into helping train a horse. Lucky me ::)
My final stop of the day was at Sportsman's Warehouse for primers, as my box of large pistol primers has gone MIA. The local store keeps primers behind the gun counter, so I waited 15 minutes in line, only for the fellow in front of me to buy the final two boxes of what I needed. The only primers in stock when I got to the counter were Remington 7 1/2 small rifle (I have about 15k of those) and Federal 209s (I have several thousand of those as well). So I ended up leaving the store with a box of Gallant Bullets Co 250gr Kieth style SWC .429 bullets and a Twix.

Last Saturday we flew to Minnesota for Thanksgiving with my daughter. Tuesday morning, I tested positive for Covid. Nobody on the plane wore a mask except my wife for medical reasons. For what it's worth, getting Covid may have been my fault. I take several eyedrops every day for Glaucoma. Sometimes my eyes itch and I rub them. I've been negligent in washing my hands.
I had no fever, just a persistent cough. This morning I tested negative.
Glad you are on the mend Johnny. We flew to Europe ~October 22, and back on November 4. Went to Greece to check some bucket lists for me. (other than the old west, one of my history interests is Bronze Age). We went to Santorini to see Akrotiri and Crete to see the Palace of Knossos. Excellent trip (may be background of a documentarty by Dan Snow being filmed at Knossos at the same time). Anyway, we had gotten our boosters and flu shots a few weeks before leaving, so I was not too worried, but we carried masks. Did not see any masks until we got to Santorini and the majority of the Asian tourists wore them. There were covid testing sites in the Athens airport, but no where else. thankfully we did not catch any funk while traveling.
Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving. We did our family one on Sunday, so will be eating a turkey sandwich while watching football on Thursday.

Thanks Slim, good luck on the hunt.
Good evening all. Been a busy week here, family in and I wound up working a 40 hour week at the LGS. I thought I was retired! Anyway next week looks better. Gonna get my Sunday School lesson ready for tomorrow and enjoy some leftover [now iced] coffee. Blessings on all of you.

Saw some deer but didn't get any. :(
1"+ of sn*w on the ground.
'Tis 21 and light flurries. "Light snow in the morning then a chance of light snow in the afternoon. Additional snow accumulation around 1 inch. Highs in the lower 30s. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of snow near 100 percent."

Good morning all, 44 here right now, supposed to hit a blistering 47! Heading to Church in a bit, gonna try to get the Missus to take it easy this week since she wore herself out caring for everyone else this past week. Gave my niece a little Keltec 32 to carry round with her since she works alone at a shop sometimes and then found a nice little NAA Guardian in 32, so I still have a pocket 32.
Morning all.
Currently 50 and sunny. We found a place down in "The City," and moved in last night. Or at least started to. We quickly realized that the first load contained no silverware, so breakfast was a caveman affair ::). We're going back for the second load today. It's just under an hour each way, so it isn't too bad. At least the coffee pot made it.
I don't recall if I mentioned it before, but Mrs. TK got a promotion at work last week. Went from floor worker to Safety Officer. Gets another $1/hr, and guaranteed 40hrs/week (previously her hours varied week to week between 23-40). Helps with rent on the new place.
Deacon, those pocket 32s are a hoot. I miss my old P32, but I'm happy knowing it's in a useful place. Traded it to my grandma for CCW, since her only other firearm was a 6" 686. She's 4'10", so that was a bit much.

Congrats on Mrs. TK's promotion.

She should be home today, they need to find the med she needs for her fungus in oral form, not something normally stocked, probably having it sent by one of those courier people from somewhere.
Neither of us seem to be able to do things simple. ::)
They had no luck, she got home about 3:30 and has to go in everyday to get IV. She's a little weak, a lot of weak? But doing good, may send her back if the swelling in her legs don't go down. I have to help her off the toilet, just a little boost up but it's starting to strain the muscles in my chest where they got the spare parts, lifting with the right side don't work in the space. Going to be a long night.
Del, one of these may help. Your SS should cover it. Med supplies stores carry them too

It would be too high to get on, we have the highest toilet, need one that tilts like her chair. Better today, will have to do the stairs soon for her IV trip. She's trying to find out about getting a home health nurse. She should have pushed some things before she left.
Del, got you guys back on my prayer list!
She will have a nurse out tomorrow, we did not go anywhere.

A nippy 44° this morning, I plunged in the electric throw blanket and was toasty :)
Thanks for the brew, may do another mug just cause !
Had a craving for hotdogs, I had found a u-Tube recipe for Hotdog sauce.
So, I when to the store and got Nathan's Famous (on sale BoGo), buns (also Bogo) , Krout, and green relish.
I had the makings for the HD sauce, the night before.
Outcome = yum ! :D
I ain't never been much of a cook or a fan of Aldis. That said, recently, I've stated buying large filets of Atlantic Salmon from Aldis. I cut them into four filets which comes out to around $5.00 per piece. I marinate them with BBQ sauce then into the oven at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. With a bag of frozen vegetables and two glasses of wine (Aldi's Winking Owl Cabernet @$3.45 per bottle), I've got a $9.00 meal including wine and a salad that's as good or better than a $20.00 to $30.00 Salmon meal from local restaurants. I'm now a fan of Aldi's.
Aldi's is a German based Corporation headquartered in Essen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
IIRC they opened in Florida about 10 years ago... now they own Winn Dixie & Kroger.
I stop there once in a while but Costco has cheaper fish, both stores are way out of the way and if I go there for an ad most times they are out and they don't have mart carts. LOL if they did how many quarters would it take to borrow it. ;D
Sent Rita back today, called 911 because our car is in the shop and I could have not got her down the stairs safely, cool to see old friends. ;D They sent her home too soon, she could not really do much on her own and I was having to go help her up in the bathroom and if I didn't move fast enough Riley yelled and me and sometimes the little cat would help.
Me and Riley took a nap, ain't had much sleep the ;D last too nights and he was upset over the ambulance again. Played him his moon song. ::) Made him feel better and got cuddles and kisses for it.
here for you, you know the number :)

Heavy rain all day here, never got out of the 40s, so an unpleasant day. LadyC and I took it easy and stayed indoors as much as possible. Overall, a good day for hot coffee and a good book.
I went to an Estate sale for a friend that passed away about 2 months ago, He was a long time reloader, I was able to pick up an unopened 25 Lb. bag of #9 shot, 150 rounds of 9mm Ball ammo, 100 Rounds of .38 special 110gr +P+ jacketed controlled expansion rounds(Law enforcement only) 4 boxes of match grade .22 LR a box of 10 CCI .38/.357 Shot shells, a speedloader for a S&W J-Frame and a Savage Arms Four Tenner shotgun adapter for the low price of $146.00I have to go back Saturday to help them price some remaining items, There is a good sized box of new .45 Colt brass there,I'm guessing maybe 400 + pieces.
