So, I am at "work" today. Since there is nothing scheduled and all the fires are out, I figured I would start a thread.
Santa was good to both my lovely bride and myself this year....Being a quasi-gentleman, I will start of with what he brought my wife...
A pair of Ruger Vaqueros (the new models).
Two new hats. One was a Stetson for shooting. The other a Riding hat for her "Day Outing Outfit."
A new shooting outfit made up of pants and a shirt.
She also a $100 gift certificate to Cabela's so she can pick out some leather.
Me
A Pietta 1860 Army
A big furry period correct hat for shooting in the cold.
A table for a latern in my tent
A Marlin 1894 Carbine.
A couple of Gift Certificates to Cabela's. I used them yesterday to pick up another 1860 Army. (We do need two you know).
Anyway, it was a good one....Hope y'alls was too...
Got a copy of "Cowboys and the Trappings of the Old West." A good resource, but heavy on the 1880s and later and very light on the 1870s -- my period of interest.
Well, this is sorta CAS related:
I got two new oak bookcases, so I can clean up all my books that are all over the house.
And a big glass curio cabinet to display my collection of telegraph equipment.
Grizzle Bear
Got a set of cowboy Christmas tree ornaments.
Slim
Griz;
Is the Contessa's party house going to become a museum?
Books
My wonderful wife got me the following:
Tombostone: the guns and the gear (book)
and the following movies: Winchester '73, True Grit, The Searchers, The Outlaw Josey Wales, Pale Rider,
Unforgiven, Buffalo Girls, Tom Horn, Complete Season of Brisco County Jr., and Rio Bravo. (all on DVD)

Yeo, but you can sleep there, too!

Sing it with me now....
"Another year older and deeper in debt..."
Even the three wise men were adding on a 'fuel surcharge' for delivering the gold, frankincense and myrrh :o
I forgot to mention, I did get The Lone Gunman Doll. Barbie has him carrying all her stuff right now.... ;)
Barbie would appreciate the differences between the doll and the action figure...the clothes come off the doll :o , not so the action figure.
Took the wifes shotgun to the Scheels gunsmiths in Sioux Falls to have the chambers polished and also had them take 1 1/2 inches off the stock of her '73 for her. Fits her alot better now.
Howdy,
I got a new Waugh white dress shirt and a paisley one with white band collar and cuffs too.
While not directly a NCOWS related item, I got what I really wanted which is a clothing steamer. Takes wrinkles out of cloth without ironing, great for wool items so they don't turn shiny, lets you shape hats to your own fancy and other such things that are handy for a clothes horse like me. ::) Makes me a real happy camper!
A new six inch Scroll Chuck and Back Plate for my lathe, now I just gotta get the time to true it up and install it!!

Not so much in material things, but my granddaughter asked me to teach her how to load shotshells. 3 hours in the gun room and about 1/2 hour testing "her" shells. Beats the heck outta any store bought gee-gaw. BP loads of course 'cause thats what grampa shoots. I think we got a little soot-lady in the making. See ya at convention.
We are traveling to Galveston once again in February. Will have to go through Oklahoma City, so the Cowboy Museum will once again be visited. I want to do some serious research there.
Latter on we will be traveling to Tennessee and since Kentucky is in the path, a trip to Baer Fabric willl have to be taken. It is the best place to find fabrics that are truly different.
As for gifts that I have actually recieved, my brother and sister in- law gave me a set of cowboy ornaments and new victorian necklace.
By the way for those of you that know I have been known to place things in a safe place and latter not be able to find them, I found my Cameos and necklaces from 7 monthes ago. Right where I put them so they wouldn't get lost.
Best part of Christmas was having my Dad, 4 children & spouses, grandson, 2 nieces and nephew and great-nephew all present for the festiviities.

Iowa Wiley Stafford,
Where did your wonderful wife get Brisco County Jr. on DVD???
Inquiring minds have been looking for ages!
Sincerely,
Prof. A. Wickwire
She did a search on ebay and found someone that burns them onto DVD for about $40. Even comes with a bonus disk of interviews with some of the cast. I've been watching an episode a night at bedtime and so far all have come out really well, and best of all, no commericals! Of course, I had to watch the the episode with my cousin, Kansas Wiley Stafford, first and then on with the rest of the series.
I.W.S.
Ya sleep with your cousin ust to watch a movie :o :o :o, the devil made me do it, see ya at the NTR banquet :)
I got the Following NCOWS goodies, ("with visions of sugar plumbs dancing in their heads")
Union Army Sack Coat CW Period Correct,(4 Button) for my Cavilry garb.
Got a pattern for making a Buckskin Shirt/Capote
Ordered a new Plow style grip for my AWA 357 that came with a pinkerton grip as a prototype (Got a great buy on the gun) nickel plated version. Used Cash santa gave me.
Have $100 in cash to put down on my next CAS weapon what ever that might be.
My wife is making me a sack shirt to go with the Buckskin Capote I will be making with the hides I am tanning from the fall's deer season (5 hides in the pickel)
I Am going to stay busy with the Capote but it will be worth it
Vaya Con Dios, Amigos and have a blessed and joyous New Year
I got a copy of Country and Blues Harmonica for the Musically Hopeless.
Maybe I will be able to play the harmonica for the KVC talent stage. This is, unless I am beyond hopeless. ( A distinct possibliity.)
I did not get the casette tape with the book. So if anyone out there has one, I will pay for a copy.
Books
My oldest daughter bought me a copy of Triggernometry by E. Cunningham. Originally published in 1954 and updated after 1995.
I also got 4 DVDs with some (8) Westerns, several of which I hadn't heard of. Santa also gavee me some cash which I'll probably spend at Fall Creek Suttlery. (Their spelling)
As far as cowboy, pioneer, and antique goods go, it's Christmas year 'round at my house. The wife did get a set of Roy Rogers DVD's though.
As for me, last year I got a new Taurus Raging Bull, 8 3/8 barrel, 44 magnum, + 2 power scope. And a note that said, "See ya in 5 years. Santa"
I didn't mention it in my last post 'cause it happened today, but I took some Santa $$$s and spent them on a very nice 1860 Cavalry Sabre and a Sack Coat - both from Fall Creek Suttlery.
