Title: Nu Guns on the Way
Post by: FloraBama Kid on July 16, 2004, 12:44:00 PM
Just ordered a pair of Rodeos in .45LC and expect them to be here in 3 days.  ;D :-*

I have been kicking this around for several months and I finally put my money on the table today. My local dealer got me a good price and hopefully they will have consecutive numbers too.

Eventually they will go to Mad Dane for a CCH job to take care of the Rodeo "uglyness". :)

Florabama, don't let the 'ugliness' of the EXTERIOR bother you, they shoot great!! and they LOVE black powder!!  Go for it and shoot straight.

Checked with the dealer today and they are in.... :) But since I don't have a CCW I have to wait until tomorrow before I can take em home  :(

Here they are:

I also found out that USFA has stopped sending Rodeos to distributors and that dealers must order directly from USFA at a higher price.. :o  I was lucky cau my dealer found a pair that were shipped out before USFA stopped. Looks like I saved a nice little chunk of money. :)

These two sweethearts are going to the range Saturday.

I LIKE "EM!!
I don't know if I'd call 'em ugly, plain maybe, but not ugly.
If it is hard to live with the "plainness" (plainness.. is that right??), you could always "antique" them till you are ready to do the CCH/B thing.

Are you signed up on the USFA CSS list yet?

Kinda give ya an idea of what you can do. (That is a USFA Rodeo, by the way.)

I have heard that quite a few folks are taking their Rodeos and converting them to Gunslingers while saving a few $ in the process.  I know a few other companies offer the antique/well used finish, but why pay extra when you can have more fun doing it yourself? ;D  I think the do it yourself mode is better and you have control over how good or bad they look.  Rodeos seem to be a good candidate for this since they are already matte finished blue.

Just got my twin set of rodeos (consecutive serial numbers) 2 weeks ago and also got the 45 ACP cylinders for them at the same time. I'm dying to try them out but work doesn't see it that way, to much overtime. They just don't understand I need ME TIME. Can't wait to try them out at the range and get good enough to go to my first shoot. Hope you enjoy yours.  ;D They will makes you a happy cowboy all day  ;D and longer -------------- Enjoy  -- think your right mine are better looking than yours -- Hummmmmmmmmmmmm maks you wonder ;D

We might want to give credit here to the author of the Linked sticky..

The late LONGSHOT LOGAN  :-[ his wry & whimsical wit was silenced, but we have this Tutorial and many have the memory of a Pard, I wish I had the pleasure of meeting.

Rest well Mr. Logan

Florabama, nice guns.  I personally like the dark satin serious look of the Rodeos.  My only thing is trying to always have color case hardened hammers for my Rodeos.
