And fell on the Buy It Now button. Uberti 1876 Presidio .50/95 on the way! ;D
From what I have seen of them your gonna like it . You should bring it down to Tx. in the Spring and shoot a few Wild Hogs with it .,,,DT
Thats my goal, brother!
Congratulations, I think you will really like it.
When I first saw the Presidio in a Shot Show video on YouTube I just had to have one and ran down to my LGS and ordered one,'paid full retail for it and never looked back.
Six months later my LGS called and said it had arrived.
Mine is serial number 31and has been a superb carbine and is very accurate.

Only issue I had with mine was that it shot 6 inches high at 100 yards with my most accurate handloads.
A small daub of solder applied to the front sight and filed to achieve a POI that corresponded to the POA was all it took.
I knocked this little guy over last weekend with a 45 yard shot right behind his eyeball.

Mine is truly a shooting son of a gun.
Out practicing my snap shooting with my Chaparrel:

I did the tight fitting patch on a cleaning rod method and mine came out to be 1 turn in 48 inches.
Dr.
Thanks ATCDoctor .,,,,DT
Is that a good ROT? What were the originals? I looked around in my big box of "stuff" (unused shooting stuff collected from 45 years) and found a near full box of Speer .490 round balls. I reckon that can be used to slug the bore in my 45's anyway. Never done it before. I'll look around some more today, I'm sure I've got some balls left over from my .50 and .54 Hawkins muzzleloaders.

The original 1876's chambered in 50/95 had a barrel rifled one turn in 60 inches and were oriented towards shorter, lighter 300-315 grain bullets.
The one turn in 48 inch barrels of today's modern rifles will allow for heavy bullets to be used with very good accuracy:

Are you still waiting on the rifle ? ,,,DT
Yes I am. It *should* be delivered tomorrow (1/8), according to UPS tracking. I'm not real happy and have had words with the seller. I bought and sent payment out the same day, was delivered 12/24. He didn't mark it paid till 12/29, and finally shipped it out yesterday, 1/6. Now I realize it was a holiday, and, as we all know, the gun world is upside down right now, but shees. Apparently I'm not his only customer.
Maybe, just maybe, I might take a picture of it. Might maybe even post it. ;)
The delivery service USPS UPS FedX are all backed up . Made an order with DGW two days ago, the nice lady said it would ship out in 3 or 4 wks. and the item is in stock . WOW . Tried to purchase a rifle through GB a few wks ago and the seller ask how I wanted to pay . I answered , he never returned an answer , tried again two more times . Still no answer from him . Was an auction , think he wasn't happy because I got it for starting price . Now don't trust sending payment to him . About them pics . hope I don't have to get the Pic Police on this ! ,,,,,,DT
Hey Mr. King I hope you are better at pictures than I am! ;D ;D Posting them is no problem, getting one that is good enough to post is the real challenge!!!!!
Congrats on the new shootin iron!!!!!

Looks great , how do you like it ? ,,,DT
Man ,, handsome , new , & looks dangerous ,, you did " GOOD " , congrads.
snow !!! I need some ,, coffee, Hootmix.
I love it! It sure is alot handier than the behemoth 28"er's. The sight leave a bit to be desired, but since I'm not a long range shooter it shouldn't be much of a problem. I think it will make for a nice snap shooter. Half the weight of a full size 76. I'm hoping dies will arrive soon so I can load up some rounds.
That's gonna be a handy shooter , a Fifty that small is a delight to hold . I like it .,,,DT
That looks really good! Great photos too. Shouldn't we be calling this the "Presido" rifle instead, based on the engraving?
Again, nice looking gun!
Griff
Congrats!! That is a beauty of a rifle!! Hope you get to try er out soon.
Took some pic's today.

Have you done any loading yet , if so how does it feed and eject ? Prepped brass today for mine , hope to cast some bullets tomorrow for 50 Cal. and 40 Cal . Like the sound of those big old cartridges sliding through the toggle - link action . ,,,DT
Loaded 4 with 18.0 TB and 290gr Blue Falcon bullets. only slipped 1 in the chamber and the bolt closed fine and ejected fine. Don't really want to load it up and jack shells in and out in the house in town, just in case accidents. Have wads coming this week and some 400gr Big Lube bullets coming too. On the notify list at Buffalo Arms for the custom .515 lube/size die. Slowly getting the stuff together.
Those pictures in the snow make it look like it is case colored from the condensation. :)
That configuration makes for the absolute lightest '76. There was once a 50-95 on the shelf for a couple years at Cimarron, it had a 16" barrel and mag tube, was antiqued, and the stock which had the finished stripped off had fantastic burl figure. But it also had a large (marble-sized?) gouge out of the wood in front of the lower tang. One day it was gone. My theory was that whatever had damaged the wood had also messed up the barrel, thus the chop. Always thought that would be a great brush gun. And now there's the Presidio!
That really looks well balanced. How many rounds does the mag hold?
4 I believe. Haven't actually loaded it myself yet.
