I am personally very Opinionated  8).  I don't like Hoppies anything.  First question ... are you cleaning up after Black Powder or BP Subs, or cleaning up after Smokeless (Heathen Fad Stuff)??  If your cleaning up after BP the only "chemical" you need is water.  I prefer warm water so I don't get cold hands.  If your cleaning up after that Heathen Fad Stuff, the only cleaner you need is Break Free CLP.

And while your asking, I only recommend two lubricants.  If you need Grease .. A tube of Mobil 1 will last you a lifetime.  If you need plain oil .. A quart of 5 - 40 Mobil 1 will last near forever.  As synthetics, both will play well with BP.

I use Hoppe's Elite spray on my nickel guns, one of which is a Cimarron Lightning. I believe the main concern is ammonia, which can attack the copper substrate. I hope I am recalling my reading correctly, but Elite seems to work fine. I too am a fan of Breakfree CLP. After I am done using another product, Breakfree CLP can always find more black stuff.

If you want something that really cleans up BP and smokiless as well and in most cases better than all of the rest of the gun cleaners try a very diluted solution of Simple Green and water. It will clean BP and smokiless lube and lead stains off of Nickle and stainless cylinders very easily.
