Title: Missouri GAF match.
Post by: Drydock on September 24, 2015, 05:59:04 PM
Unfortunatly, as we are no longer using the police training range for the end of the year match here in MO, we will not be hosting a GAF muster this fall.  While the local club is quite GAF weapon friendly, they have made it clear there will be no significant deviation from a 10-10-4 format, with very limited movement.  IE a SASS speed match that allows GAF guns.  Thus I cannot ask those folks who have expressed interest, to drive that far for such a match.

HOWEVER.  Pony Express and I are working on a possible GAF only skirmish type match to perhaps be held this coming spring, on private property.  Probably in March, a Spring Campaign as it were.  Developments will be posted here.

My apologies,  and my hopes for a fine spring day!

Thank you for letting us know.

This probably is for the best for me personally. I had planned on coming, but with a family issue that has arisen this week, I'm thinking that talking Cathy into traveling with me would have been a futile effort.

Maybe next spring...

Drydock, I understand the limitations of trying to run a GAF match on a cowboy range. Some people don't understand that it's a differant type match, not just differant weapons. Best of luck in the future. I'm pullin' for ya. Al.

Our problem with the Cowboy range is-it doesn't belong to the cowboys, but to a local IPSC club-so we can only use it on the regular cowboy shoot days, in conjunction with our already scheduled CAS match. We're tentatively planning to do it on my farm, and the terrain is very "skirmish friendly". Not as steep as the canyons at Jerry's farm, but more trees.
