Just wonderin where is the best place to purchase a 97. Should I buy an original or are the IAC's OK? WM

Ive owned both and I like the original much more.

Since WB shooting is going to allow the Model 12, you are already seeing WB shooters sell off their 97.

Take a look on the SASS wire and the WB Wire.  There have been more than a few for sale recently.

At the SASS match yesterday, a shooter showed me a beautiful M12 that he picked up at Gander  :o Mountain for $325.00. This gun looks brand new. He said they had about a dozen on the shelf for sale.

Dang fokes at GM (Cabellas also fer thet matter) lust dawnt like us here in the South and refuse to give us a store of our own.  One would think that Charleston would be a great market fer them fokes, no Bass Pro Shops very close, almost totally surrounded by water and dawnt even ask about the hunting/camping opportunities here!

Got a little slow on the draw and just missed an opportunity on a new IAC at a great price, $325 and delivered.  Perhaps some of the fokes visiting us at the SE Regional in three weeks will be looking to shed one in prep for the new mod 12s!

I have dealt with Joe getting parts for my 97s. Good guy.

I looked at one yesterday that I really liked, actually better than mine.  It was older, did not check numbers, and a plain Jane long barl gun without rib.  Condition looked pretty good but I think the price may be a bit high, thinking of making an offer.

Best place to get one is at a match, from another shooter.  Normally it will be ready to go for any shooting.

There is a Cimmaron version over on the SASS WIRE this morning and I think the price is right.  I would have grabbed it but I currently have to many other irons in the fire and causing a cash flow embarrassment!   :-[
