Howdy......
I gonna hang up my guns for a while. Lately my heart just ain't been into shootin. I have been goin to shoots but kinda had ta talk myself into it.
I am gonna give it a rest for a while and see what happens.............
See ya down the trail a ways........
Vern...
Foothills, We all know how you feel. When it stops being fun the best thing is to quit for awhile until you want to do it again. That don't mean you have to leave CAS City though.
I know what you're talkin' about Pard. I have been to 2 matches this year. It's not that I didn't have fun at the matches, it's just that after 7 years I think I just needed a break. I wasn't excited about gettin' up and gettin' my gear together. I was starting to dread going into the reloading room. Now, I signed up for an annual that I have gone to 3 of the last 4 years. I'm getting excited about that. Maybe the break is over. We'll wait and see.
Sounds like ya might be hittin burnout. Ya might try some other shootin games and see if there's one that catch's your fancy.
Doc
Well Drifter it happens, they say that's the second thing to go with age.... maybe you could take up fishing for a while, or cards, canasta, cribbage??
It will get fun again, just give it some time, don't mean you have to be a stranger around here, unless this is contributing, in which case, take care pal and we will talk to you again when you get better.
:)
Just went through the same thing myself. I hit burn out that lasted about 8 months. I did not shoot one formal match the whole time. Only went out in the desert to shoot a half a dozen times. The ol' feeling is coming back with a vengeance. Best not to force yourself, and just let it run it's course. It will eventually come back around.
Been feeling you drifting, Vern. You gotta do what you gotta do to make it right for you. I do hope you stick around CAS City, yer a great pard.
With a hug,
AnnieLee
But Vern,
We haven't had a chance for a face to face run in yet. The best we have done is the telephone. How about GFBJL or the Brimstone BP match? I hope to get to those two matches.
Yer my pard whether you shoot or not. Ride easy, take a break and maybe the urge to send some lead down range will return. Meanwhile keep checking in on the boards. :)
Drifter --
Been there like you. My pard & I got tired of the "gods" of our club and now shoot trap, IPSC and rifle.
You'll be back -- take a break - but not from shootin'. Always keep the cowboy way in yer heart :)
Mike
Every once in a while I get to that place. Like Doc said, a bit of burnout.
What helps me is to try a different shooting club, meet new pards, see different ways folks do things. I might take his suggestion also and see if there's any other shooting sport I can try. But it will have to be one that allow for box-stock pistols.
