Title: Rossi 92 extraction prob!!
Post by: Paladin UK on November 29, 2010, 12:48:01 PM
Ho pards.
Got me a little `head scratcher` here!!!

My 357`s extractor started to `ride` the shell rim rather than extract it!! Aha!! I thought its worn. I bought the gun 2nd hand and so I assumed that the extractor was worn. I bought and fitted a new one, fitted it and.... walla      IT STILL RIDES OVER THE RIM OF THE CASE  :o rather than extract it!!  When you look at the round sat in the bolt you can see the extractor IS sat slightly high on the rim!!

Sooooooo any ideas on how to effectivly Lower the extractor a tad so`s it can grab the case better!!

Check for crud buildup in the back of the barrel, where it is cutout for the tip of the extractor to go into, commonly referred to as the 'Gozinta'.

Also check to be sure that the bolt is closing fully.

OK
Fer Goody.................The original extractor had `had its day`,

Sooooo  like I said, I fitted a new one which was riding high.

Effectivly I lowered the exractor into the bolt a bit at a time, using a very fine file, you have to leave a tad more metal on the `short end`  (After the hole), and just veeeeery slightly cold bend the the end with the extractor!!
and Walla Puk`s a happy cowboy!!

Brill............... Yep, a Very good thing ;D

Chuffed...............`smug`..... self praised  :-[

BTW...........I`m Irish But thats another story!!! ;)

I was checking to see if you got the problem fixed because I have addressed this on several guns in my business. One of the things I we do is 92s.    If you have a problem please feel free to contact me.
