Title: Winchester 94 front sight hood
Post by: Buster95 on November 11, 2010, 09:34:30 PM
I'm interested in a 94 but the rifle did not come with the hood for the front sight, It's a 1940's model with flat barrel band, does the missing hood is common?

I don't think any Winchesters from that era had hoods on the front sights. Most people take them off anyway.

If you use a rifle for anything other than target shooting, with good light, then that hood is only something to obscure whatever it is you're shooting at. Somewhere there ought to be a pile of'm tall as a house.

Somewhere in my junk box is one and the factory site off my 375 Big Bore, the silver blade I replaced it with suits me much better although the factory rear site works fine after a little renfocing with some lock-tite and some small machine screws and nuts.  got tired of carrying a couple extrra in my pocket for when it shed one. ::)
