Title: What should I list my gun for?
Post by: Deja vous on August 25, 2010, 08:28:58 PM
I am selling Marvin my Marlin 45LC he is a 20 inch carbine.. 1894 Cowboy Limited in good shape.  i love him, but I want to have just 38s to mess with, easier to reload that way.  So, what should I sell him for?  And what should I expect to pay for a 38 Marlin carbine?  What do I need to watch for?  I want to list him for sale or trade on SASS and here, but I want to make sure I get the right marlin 38 and that I ask a fair price and pay a fair price.. Thanks guys and gals.. Deja.

Have you browsed the ads yet? I usually get my prices by averaging the prices others are asking. I try for a straight trade first.

One observation. The modern Marlins are usually marketed as .357/38's. I have heard of some feeding problems with
.38 specials. Just watch for that. It's related to overall length.
