Title: ASM 3rd Model Dragoon
Post by: Patrick Henry Brown on May 11, 2010, 02:36:58 PM
I hope to be shooting my newest acquisition this coming Saturday at the Tyler Peacemakers NCOWS match in Tyler TX -- an ASM 3rd Model Dragoon. Will pair it up with an ASM 1858 Remington and hopefully my Pietta Smith Carbine and a sxs shotgun. I'll be slow, and I won't be shooting pistoleer (BP Duelist - rules you know). Anyone else here shooting one of these Dragoons in SASS or NCOWS matches. I would love to hear your experiences and tips.

It's HEAVY!! If I remember 40g is about the lightest load without a filler. My 2nd gen likes 2f and it makes a nice fireball too.
See ya sat.

Oh, yeah..shoot it!!  ;D I have a Uberti, 3rd Model. I like loading it with 40 gr of 3f & a 200gr SWC (pure lead).
It's an attention-getter. Takes some patience to shoot it one-handed, but adds to the enjoyment.

Slim
