I'm looking for books that have photos of Texans from the 1870s. To narrow that down, I'm trying to find images of people from the North Central or Eastern areas of Texas - especially from Dallas/Ft. Worth down to around Austin. West Texas had a strong Mexican influence on their fashion, so images of people from there won't be as useful.
I've found all sorts of images of Texas Rangers, and I've found pictures of the cities themselves, but as for what the regular people wore in that region at that time I'm at a loss.
Any suggestions?
I'll add that that's the time frame that Wyatt, Doc, Bat and all those other bad boys hung out occasionally in Ft. Worth, so would it be reasonable to look at the fashions of a similar place like Dodge City?
