Title: GAF Class at Central Ozark Western Shooters.
Post by: Drydock on July 14, 2009, 12:12:58 AM
I have been given permission to demonstrate a GAF class at our sunday the 19th of July Match.  I'll be shooting the regular match using a Krag Infantry rifle and an Artillery Colt.  C.O.W.S. has been very supportive of this, and I have every expectation it'll become a regular class, at least when I'm shooting.   ;)

Terrific!!  ;D

I hope this kind of grassroots activity continues to spread to other clubs. Please keep us posted on how this progresses.

After Action Report:

A successful engagement.  Made a quick presentation before the match.  Smooth and quick, no rifle misses for the day. Integrated well with the regular SASS shooters.  Many comments, all favorable, one of the club officers was heard musing about a Krag in the back of his safe. Several folks asked for our website.  I should have a couple of additional shooters next month.  Lots of folks coming up to ask questions and handle the old rifle.  And great fun on the line for myself.  I'll be shooting this way at COWS the rest of the year.

Even got to disprove a gunwriter myth.  Had three different folks come up to me wondering how I could literaly throw 2 and 3 rounds at a time into the magazine, they'd read you had to carefully load one at a time to keep the rims properly aligned, or the weapon would jam.  Love that one.  I'd just show them by loading one round at at time into the magazine with the rims deliberatly overlapped the "Wrong" way, and slap the mag shut.  And cycle all 5 thru the action.

Just a damn fine day all around.

Great report!! Keep up the good work. We need to introduce the GAF into more clubs via this method.

A Krag is slicker than snot on a doorknob!  8)
