Noah goes nuts 'n runs inta walls then laffs. I werry fer the walls.
Spud THA STUD! It has a ring to it!
Thas funny cause Lil has an old trick she does when he runs inta somethin. She asks "is the coffee table ok, did ya hurt it?"
Guess she done that with all the kids. They get so worried bout hurtin whatever they hit that the cryin stops.

We had planned on doing that a few years ago, but then Dad got bad and we didn't do it, was Mom's idea and I haven't pushed it since. Need to though, back a few years ago Mom would go get both of my Grandma's and bring them out to the farm when I had the dutch ovens out there.
Tex you have me pegged pretty good, dang I still wish this bunch would be able to get together.
Thank you Sir!
A family reunion fer ma fambly would be strange. We all seem ta be drifters in one way er another. I have a sister an a bunch a cousins but aint seen er heard from any of em in a while. A long while. I talk to ma Dad as much as I can but that's about it. Me an him have truley become friends, like two guys at a fishin hole talkin about this an that.
This bunch gettin tagether would be innerestin. Love ta see it some day.
a good family reunion get together is good but it sure takes somebody pushing a little to get it done, I've seen and heard it talked about at times but we all had to work at it to make it happen
Our Cole Family has a really big reunion out around Dos Palace Calif. every fall, never have been to it, my Mom and her Brother went one year. saw more Coles than they ever knew there was :o

"Lookey there, it's uncle Leo an Pa Arcey goin at it in da mud!"

Del's #1 cole slaw recipe.....
1 (20 oz.) can Dole pineapple chunks
1 1/4 c. Miracle Whip
1 (16 oz.) bag cole slaw mix
Combine all ingredients in large bowl. Toss well. Serve chilled. Makes 2 quarts.

Del, It looks like Rowdy is playing to the camera in the second picture. Russ, Those are a couple of fine lookin' cats.

Me too Tex, this one was in 93, front yard at the farm. Yard is different now, a patch of tall grass praire where the swing set and sandbox were.

He is resting about where the left legs on the swing set are in the picture. :'(
Lookin over the pics I think Rowdy may be Midnight come back ta play. Aint sayin I buy inta that stuff but the resemblance is uncanny.
Great photos.
I can't find any of Rascal but if I could you'd swear they were from the same litter.
However Rowdy has a very different personalality than the other two who were about the same. Not bad, but very different he is. He's what the Lab folks call a Velcro dog.
Also Rowdy is a decent hunter, but not the Hell-no-four legs the other two were, but my nfault because I don't go out that much any more,
1995, he was great then. Oldest daughter took these. Loved quial, did a lousy point but I knew what it meant:

Nuther covey, one just starting to fold, wad pointed out by the arrow, note slight puff of smoke from the barrel, fantastic load that one is, almost as dirty as black, worst smokeless load I ever seen, friend tried it in his 1100, bogged it up with less than a box. ;D

Sarah wanted to come along and take pictures, she went though a lot of film that day and these three were worth what it cost.
I guess Victoria is a little that way. She's happiest when the Moose and I are both with her. Those are great action shots. I don't hunt anymore either. I think Victoria would have made a good one. She's sort of a "tom boy".
Angel is a good hunter. It must be the Rodsesian in her, they was made ta go after lions. She points, don't mind gunfire a bit an will fetch somethin up an drop it at yer feet without distroyin it on the way. She's really growed up now fer those of you who remember her as a pup. Smartest dog I ever owned.

Labs are great dogs to have around small children. They just seem to know that the kids are learning about animals and know the kids wanna be their friends.
Spud is always tryin ta hand feed our dogs like in that pic. Now whenever he's havin a snack they come runnin. Both of em treat that little guy with the utmost respect and know better than ta play rough. He's growing up knowing that dogs are great an I think that's good. There's perty good odds that that's the first thing he's gonna want fer Christmas once he gets a bit older.

One time when we were staying in a cabin in the outskirts of Jackson Hole. Moose got up during the night and got a book out of the car. The next morning, she was outside talking with the manager. The manager told her that a bear had been around that night and had gotten into the trash cans near our cabin. Moose didn't go out at night after that.

Rita and her lap dog tonight: ;D
(http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i200/Delmonico_1885/Lexie%20and%20Rowdy/5152009006.jpg)
Had a black lab over taday. Just sat at the door till her momma came back out an got her. Angel an Sammie tried ta play with her but the girl just wanted ta watch that door. Loyal an well bahaved, gotta give creit where due. They is some good dogs.
Lap dog Labs, Ya gotta love em! I know my little brown girl is special to me. She's not a lap dog, she likes to lay at my feet and chew on her rawhide chew.
He ain't a lap dog to me, but he kinda sneaks that one on her, is funny to watch cause he knows if he just tries to sit on her lap it won't work, he starts on the couch and slips over a little at a time. ;D
Glen, It sounds like he's got the "Lassie Crawl" down pat.
I'll tell ya what, that lab I had here yesserday eneded up stayin the night. Things barely a year old an is just the perfect dog. Now I know what all the fuss about the breed is. Everytime I'd go out fer a smoke I'd give her a pat on the head an she'd lay at ma feet. Kinda startin ta miss her already. The dipwads that own her named her Another, which is dumb so I just called her Girl an she seemed ta get that I was talkin ta her.
Of course Angel was very jelous, but put up with it ok.
Leo, Now you know why Glen and I love Labs so much.
I had a pup once, it was black too but one of my daughters was allergic and ended up in the ICU after sleeping with it. I found a great home fer her and haven't seen her since. God made sure that one got a good home, the kid I gave her to was the son of dog trainers. Met him in front of a gas station goin ta get smokes. He had just lost a female black lab ta old age an it was a perfect fit. Sad an happy at the same time fer me.
Victoria is a lot like Rowdy. She sleeps with my wife more than I do. She tries to split her time between both of us.
Angel has perty much become Lil's dog an Sammie is The Boy's dog. Was about ta kidnap the lab from last night an say "THIS IS MY DOG!" Just can't get over what a good un it was. If ya knew the owner ya'd know that all it's smarts was natural an not trained. Other words, the dog is smarter than all the folks around her.
They're something special for sure. Depending on how much longer I live, Victoria may be my last dog.

A fine lookin bunch Mr. Cole. I'm sure they keep ya busy.
Nice lookin' group ah kids, Curly. Ain't believein' my number three grandkid'll be here in a few weeks.
Good lookin kids Curley,
the other day when the kids were here, Jada was washin dishes and Jackie was standing right behind her and Jada told her "the train is stopped" Jackie asked her what she was talkin about, she repeated the train ain't moving and she pointed out the window toward the turkey houses, she can see enough to think the buildings there was a train, Jackie told her that's turkey houses, Jada kept sayin it was a train, finally Jackie just got her and put her on the 4 wheeler and took her down and showed her what it was.
now I said all that to say, Jada starts school at the School for the Blind on Aug 17, but we are so tickled to see that she can see to some degree, those turkey houses are almost 1000 ft. from the kitchen window and she had to have seen it to say that there was a train down there. here in the house you can ask her to go get something, she'll go right to what your pointing at, she know her colors, when you point at something here in the house, she can tell you the color, I'm sure everythng isn't clear to her but she gets around pretty good
when the doctors first started talkin about her vision, they said she'd never be able to see anything. we are awful thankful that she does as good as she does, nothing slows her down, if you could see her play, you wouldn't know she has a problem at all.
Thanks to everyone who's said a little prayer through the years.
Great lookin kid OT an a great story. Nothin more fun than provin the docs wrong. Sounds like she is good at adapting.
Thank you, Actually them is only 5 out of a total of TEN.. Like a fool I started given the kids an American Silver Eagle at birth and then on birthdays...dang....then I decided to add a tenth ounce gold eagle on their 10 bday...gultton for punishment. now that they are gettin older they look foward to them.

The wife was taking the loss of Kokopelli pretty hard, so we went to the Washoe County Humane Society (NOT AFFIATED WITH HSUS). There we found Samantha (Sam). After one day she's already taking on her big brother, Jake. He has already accepted her as his little sister, and just whacks her on the top of her head when she attacks him.
Bet it would be fun ta watch Sam play with a ball of yarn. They're really somethin at that age.

The only all black (Sam does have an extremely small white spot on her chest) I've had was a cat picked up in the median of I 95 in Wisconsin by a former girl friend's sister. Called that one George. (large history of calling my female cats with names that sounded male...Charlie (named after a girl n High school named Charlene, George after a girl I knew named Georgina...Max after an Aunt named Maxine). Kokopelli was the only exception.
Jake is a feral born cat from our old apartment. They are getting along just fine!! Was a little worried if he'd adjust, but they are doing fine.
Even though it looks like it, he hasn't killed her. Just shows the size difference right now!
Russ, It looks like Jake is showin' Sam who is the BOSS!

Give it time. I remember when Angel was small an Sammie thought she was the boss. Sammie is no longer the boss. Now that I have been loaned a camera I'll have ta put up some current photos of them.
Victoria passed her checkup at the vets today, with flying colors. She had lost almost 3 lbs, which pleased the Moose.
I think this was the way Jake was keeping from being harassed!! She just tears around the house, chasing him every time he turns his back.
Glad Victoria passed muster. Keeping the weight down is good for them. We have the problem now with the high fat kitten chow VS the adult cat food. Guess who likes each other's food!!
Samantha has her first vet appointment next week, for the last of her kitten shots.
The only thing she didn't like was when they took the fecal sample.

We got some cantalopes this week and the Moose sliced some up for supper Wed night. Victoria came over at sat next to me and acted like she might be interested in some. I fixed her some and she ate it. She likes fresh fruit. I haven't tried the yogurt with her yet, but I'm thinking she would like it.
our dogs love that yogurt & ice cream,
Bear and Clea like them little carrots and we've got a coupla of cats that go crazy with an ear of corn,
never have tried fresh fruit with em
OT, no grapes and no raisins, causes kidney damage for some reason.
All four dogs here like cantelope..............Buck
Heck, I got a dog that craves used tissues. An other things I won't mention. Sammie is the most discusting dog I have ever known. There's a story I'd love ta tell here but it just aint appropriate.
Angel likes pork ribs. She'll settle fer the bones but if ya put a whole one in her bowl you are God in her eyes. No fruit er veggies though, she looks at ya like "what is this, some kinda joke?"
The girls like to do paper, tissues, and paper towels. Unfortunately, Sadie did Sandy's glasses yesterday. $230 worth........Buck :o ::) :-\
When we first got Victoria, she chewed some of Moose's sandals. She grew out of that pretty fast.
Rowdy has did glasses a couple of times, my titanium framed ones with glass lenses do fine, Rita's plastic not. ::)
The only thing she likes to chew on is her rawhide chews.
He don't really chew on stuff any more, but does like to steal and torment if he thinks he needs attention. Most often a dish towel, hot pad or a knife. "Glen help me, he has a knife."
I would have loved to see him take the pillow cases off the pillows and take the sheets off the bed.
I was on the phone with him when the knife thing happened. I said, "yer dog did what?".
The play by play was somethin, I wish I had it recorded.
A black rocket just came down the stairs and through the living room growling. Got my sock back. ;D
Rita wants the computer anyway, guess I'll give him some attention. ;D
Sonny does the same thing.
It was all a ruse, he wanted me to let Rita have the computer so he could have her easy chair all to himself. little poop scares me at times with what he seems to figger out. ::)

Capt. Jake has been a fair consumer of paper towels. If left were he can partake, there are large potions found missing later. He actually eats them, as opposed to J. B. Books (his predecessor), who used to chew the heck out of cardboard boxes, but always spit out the shrapnel.
Victoria is a whole lot smarter than any of previous dogs.

Not always, he was upset with her today, she forgot her phone and came home at lunch and got it, then she played of the computor a bit. He was not happy, it was Dad's time on the computor.
However when I get home from work he lets me know it's her turn. ::) He ain't real happy when she's home sick either, he has his routines. ;D

They do not like changes in their routines. Victoria know something is going on . She's gonna have a sleep over at Qunicy's house this weekend while we're gone to San Antonio for the weekend.
If we leave the house fer 5 minutes without Angel, she acts like she aint seen us in 8 years when we get back. I thought she was just spoilt.
Rowdy most days goes in his crate when I get dressed for work, almost forgot to lock it today. Just not sure, think he would be good, but he likes to steal stuff when we're there, send him up-stairs and lock the door he's good. ::) Course we could also har him. funny thing he gets bored up there he just turns the knob and opens the door and comes on down.
Victoria has learned how to let herself in and out of the patio door.

Yep, Jennings and McBride. My grandmother is 90 and can still out cuss a sailor. As far as the Yugoslavian part a me goes, well ya know how diplomatic them folks are.
Leo, The Moose is Irish. After we got back home from seeing "Braveheart" at the movies, the Moose told me, "Now I know why you're wild and crazy, It's your Scottish heritage".

I could talk about Lil all day long but ya just gotta know er ta know, ya know?
The Moose has Auburn hair and is light skinned, there is a temper also, under the right circumstances. She is almost 6 ft tall.
Lil is 5'4", blonde an cute as a button. She don't get mad much an never at me an I thank God fer that. That little thing can srike fear inta tha hearts of men. She knows "the look" too but reserves it fer special occasions.

Guess it's been about 6 weeks ago, she got two haircuts, the first one was self inflected. ;D
Mom was POed, Grandma said "Now you know how mad I was when you were her age and did the same thing." ;D
It's growing back. Guess she had a bit of trouble after that at pre-school, kids were teasin' her sayin' she looked like a boy and was upset. Told her mom and grandma I was gonna teach her to punch noses. Said it would get her kicked out. Said in this PC world makin' fun of kids would to and if they didn't talk to the teachers about that part also I was gonna do it. They solved the problem. PC works both ways. ;D
Them self-made haircuts are purty common at that age.
My sister gave me a haircut when we was little with a pair of them blunt nosed kid scissors. Mom came in just after a big crooked chunk got takin off the front. Dad said the only solution/punishment was ta get a crew cut (they were not cool in the 70's).
Del don't tell Lexie I made that mistake. It happened to my sister in shoe store once and it devistated her. She wanted one of them Dorthy Hammel cuts an the hair dresser really butched it. Shoe store clerk come up ta us an asked, "you boys want some comic books ta look at while I help yer mom?" I laughed, she cried an Mom didn't get any shoes that day.
Leo, I figger if the teacher can't stop then if Lexie decks one Grandpa is gonna raise hell, sure she might get kicked out but I do know a couple lawyers that hate libs and their ideas. School can't control kids, would be real interesting around here. ;D
Susie did that to her sister when they were young. She got spanked for doing it, Sandy got it for letting her. Their Mom used to put those big bananna curls in their hair.........Buck ::) 8)
Jewel gave Carina a haircut when they were younger. ::)

They do, real quick, did she sare at all with Grandpa?
I got pictures of the kids on Halloween but ain't got them down-loaded yet, Lexie was Dorthy from The Wizard of Oz.
Grandpa got to pick one, only one mind you, out of her 3 lbs. of stash . . . at least it felt like 3 lbs.

Great picture, RCJ.

That is too cute John. Spud was a boxer (not the dog) but I didn't have a camera.
Here are two pics of my new grandson, Theodor John. He and his parents live in Kongsberg, Norway. I like the second pic because of the skeptical look on his face ;D
Great pics, Frenchie! I bet he's thinking "Why aren't you feeding me?!?", or it's just gas. (From experience my vote is gas. Gas creates some of the most thoughtful expressions on a baby's face . . ;D)
Wait until he gives you that same look at 9 . . .
then wait until he gives you the same look at 16.
I bet there will be entirely different thoughts powering that same look.
Handsome grandson indeed. My vote is still "Teddy".

Nice pictures, Frenchie.

I'm going through pictures, cleaning up files and such, ran across this, brother took it in 2005, I'd guess May. Less than a year before Dad passed on, Mom has it framed on her living room wall beside his flag and his army photo. Last time Dad got to drive his beloved 1948 Ferguson TE-20 that Grandpa bought in 1960.

The E stands for English, this one was built over the pond. One of a few who the restorers have not snatched up and restored. Mr. Ferguson as grandpa called him is still a workhorse. The Lucifer system is gone though, you know Lucifer the Prince of Darkness, the lectrics come from Delco-Remy. ;D
Del,Ya mean LUCAS ?
# The Lucas motto: "Get home before dark."
# Lucas is the patent holder for the short circuit.
# Lucas - Inventor of the first intermittent wiper.
# Lucas - Inventor of the self-dimming headlamp.
# The three position Lucas switch - Dim, Flicker and Off.
# The Original Anti-Theft Device - Lucas Electrics.
# >Lucas is an acronym for Loose Unsoldered Connections and Splices
# Lucas systems actually uses AC current; it just has a random frequency.
# "I have had a Lucas pacemaker for years and have never had any trou..."
# If Lucas made guns, wars would not start.
# A friend of mine told everybody he never had any electric problems with his Lucas equipment. Today he lives in the countryside, in a large manor with lots of friendly servants around him an an occasional ice cold shower...
# Back in the 70's, Lucas decided to diversify its product line and began manufacturing vacuum cleaners. It was the only product they offered which did not suck.
# Q: Why do the British drink warm beer? A: Because Lucas makes their refrigerators
# Alexander Graham Bell invented the Telephone.Thomas Edison invented the Light Bulb. Joseph Lucas invented the Short Circuit.
Majer Proud owner of a 1979 Triumph Bonniville with Lucas electrics
Love it Major, I have an English friend on the Lab forum I need to send it to. We were discussing English cars one day and I mentioned the damned Lucifer 'lectrics on it. He corrected me and I told him that one this side of the pond we call them Lucifer. ;D
The last Lucas part in the tractor was the ignition switch, we had trouble with it last fall, brother traced it to a lost machine nut on the back. I watched as he got his handy dandy do all collection of machine screws and nuts in both metric andSAE made to fit anything he carries in one of the tool boxes of his pick-up. I stood back and watched, even took pictures:

This is our Grandson, Kathan's picture - not a picture of him, well, it sort of is, but one he made. I just gotta brag a bit.
Our 17 year old Grandson, Kathan, is applying to a number of universities, and Chapman College is one. He is applying for their film and media program, and Navy ROTC; they asked him to make a two minute film or video promoting himself - this is his submission.

This kid gives me such a case of the big head I can hardly contain myself sometimes. He is very proud of his heritage, and says that he is a real Indian: Cherokee on his Dad's side (Mrs. Hairy, our sons, and two "blood" Grands are registered in The Southern Cherokee Nation), and Asian on his Mom's. He has embraced the Cherokee Heritage, and was instrumental in getting the high school to recognize all of the American Indian students, and formed a "Council" of students to explore and embrace their heritage. He played football three years, and track four, is a Freshman Mentor and Student Counselor at school, and is involved in a number of other campus activities. He just earned his Eagle Scout and was awarded that in August; for that, he made a film aimed at easing the anxiety of children facing surgery and serious medical procedures at The Children's Hospital of Orange County and was awarded a Meritorious Service Award by The County Board of Supervisors. He is an accomplished musician, plays the piano, all of the violin type instruments, favoring cello, is in a band and plays guitar and piano, is a money making DJ, and I don't know what all else. He is responsible, moral, respectful, and reveres all of his elders; speaks two dialects of East Indian, Cherokee (self taught), and Spanish. He has a steady girlfriend - she is a real peach - and the kids he hangs out with are all a lot like him; we have had several of them visit at different times, and they are all a treat to be around - I think I might have told you about taking some of them shooting once.
I hope you all don't mind, I just had to jump up and shout.
Just recently moved to be closer to em. Gotta make up for some lost time, but I'm trying to teach em right.
