I've got a hankerin' for a Uberti "58" Carbine. Not too concerned about scratches, dents or dings as I'll give it my "slightly used" finish. I have a number of Army model pistols and lots of other things to trade!
Maybe this will wet yer appetite a little more ;D
Coyote'
Yer such a TEASE ;D
that is an amazing gun, good luck finding it.
do you want the rifle stock? if not, Pietta has one with a 10" barrel.
How do you support the barrel with the other hand to shoot?
Hopefully it's balanced enough not to need that extra hand, or maybe putting pressure on the stock would make sense, to keep the barrel up.
I know on SMGs you just hold on for dear life or cross brace your arms.
If memory serves me correctly its a 2 handed hold BEHIND the cylinder. It was not reccomended to have a hand in front of the cylinder for obvious reasons. I think its posted some where here in CASCity that I read that.
The shooter keeps both hands behind the cylinder, usually the left hand under the right which is in the normal holding position. Left hand forward is inviting at least cylinder gap burn on the wrist, if not more serious problems from a chain fire............
OK..............
Now back on track ;D
Anybody have one for sale or trade?
I have one that isn't for sale - it's an Uberti, and shoots better than it has any right to, as do the two others I've known of people having and shooting. Honest 2 to 2.5 inch groups off a rest at 50 yards. Holding the right hand (shooting hand) in the left hand, and resting the back/heel of the left hand on something this thing is amazing. Have only shot round balls through it. I have a friend that has two, both of which are, I believe as new, only one has been shot at all. She's a widow in financial duress, and if she still has them, I'm sure that they would be for sale. What sort of price are you thinking/trading stock? In the Cabela's catalogue, they run over 400 new. Let me know what you're thinking, and I might be able to arrange something, even buying one myself if you only are able to trade, if what you have is interesting. She needs the cash though, and wouldn't be interested in a direct trade.

Well Hoof Hearted pm me what you might be interested in parting with maybe between you, me, and Jamie we can make each other happy and help this unfortunate lady. I have a fond affection for the 58's and have 6 already but theres plenty of room for more.

Jamie
I sent you a PM!
Dear Hoof (Mr. Hearted?),
I sure didn't mean to blow you off today! I tried to call her last night but it was too late, so I left a message and she didn't call back this morning. I tried to call her this morning, but she must have been up early and out, so again no response. I then went out to shoot my 45/70 for awhile, came back, ate, and went down to the church to do some counseling - I'm a minister, and just got back and saw your second message. If you got one, enjoy it, if not, let me know, and I'll continue to persue it. Again, sorry, I really didn't mean to blow you off!
Jamie
Well........... :P
Maybe today will bring better luck!
I received two different maybes and got cocky so I blew off bidding on one on Gunbroker that closed yesterday.
It sold for $290.15 :-\
...ouch...
how is Gunbroker? much like good ol' "evil-bay?"
I've seen some things on there, but not really sure how it works, thanks.
good luck on the carbine anyways.
Sorry. She finally called back and it turns out that she traded BOTH guns for some work that she had done about 2 months back. I have a feeling that the work was minor, but it needed doing and that was what she had to work with. I'm sorry that it took so long to get word back to you. Last time I knew she still had both guns, and I was actually thinking about buying them myself with an eye toward adding pistol grips and making some real buntlines. They would hold fine, judging from my carbine. At any rate, I hope that you can find what you're looking for, and again, sorry it took me so long to find out the details. Seems like the more time sensitive things are, the longer it takes to make the connections.

I did ;D
I thought I emailed ya, but some times I forget to take my Gingko billoba :P
I had perused those before when I thought I would never want a revolving rifle, then that Roots rifle string came back up on the STORM forum and walla..........I'm a loon about these guns. ::)
Now I have saved all of those pics and I found a NIB rifle at the Dallas Arms collector show on Saturday for $225.00. Now I'm thinking rebarrel, 22", half round/octagon, three leaf express site, Beeches front, silver plate the brass, redo the stock, arrgh, arrgh AARGH!
My hang up is getting ahold of Bob Millington. His website has vanished, his number is no good...............
HH
Great. I get so much spam any more wanting to sell me viagra that I may have missed it! >:(
What I like about these sites, you find guns that someone will say were never made or never made in a certain caliber.
Glad I could help.

HH;
Bob's website is www.armsportllc.net
I just googled it and it's there.
JW
COOL :o
That appears to be a brand new site. When I went to it last week (same address) it went to one of those stupid :parking lots" that try to sell you armsport ice cream and the like.
I will now take another gander, thanks!
