A couple of loaded rounds slipped in amongst my match brass. They were in the big bottle of dish soap and water. Back at the ranch they got into the rotary tumbler with the DD Ceramic Porcelain tumbling media and got got tumbled along with the brass. So, that's maybe Eight hours wet and busy. I found 'em when I dried the brass. They were sure shiny.
So, at the last match, we shot them downrange. They went BOOM just fine.
I'm thinkn' that properly sized brass loaded up with Big Lube™ boolits that are lube/sized with PL-II might just be waterproof.
Anyway, that's what happened. So, I'd probably feel safe shootn' some I'd dropped into the snow. . . .

Just means your doing a good job on your building of your bullets , cases , and seating the primers .
There is no shortage of WW2 , Korean , or Viet Nam ammo sitting outside still that is still good to go too .
You'll notice if you've ever shot China ammo ( tisk tisk ) that they tend to red laquer in thier bullets and primers .
Doesn't surprise me yours did so well , even tumbled and bathed , like a good dog should be . ;D
My Uncle had mounds and mounds of surplus 3040 Krag sitting in his pasture in California . It went boom just fine too when some of it got into his slash fire pile . We all made it out alive ;D
I bet your bullets will last even longer Dick Dastardly than any Military surplus stuff , especially lubed up like you do um .
I also have little doubt even Civil War ammo , left in the right container is still good too . BP is resiliant stuff , it gets wet , dries out , and still goes boom , gotta love it . Try that with Pyrodrex :o

I have done the same thing. They sat in the bath overnight to boot.
I'll probably not make it a general practice, but it's good to know that a little wet won't disable them.
Interesting thing is, when I tumble my brass with the primers knocked out first (not my usual practice) the wet DD-CP media cleans the primer pockets. They don't get shiny like the rest of the brass, but they get clean.
Anyway, I thought I'd report that I won't have to worry about squibs if I shoot in the rain.

I've ran a few 22 Hornet loads of mine through the washing machine, that I left in my watch pocket, they all went bang.
A lot of the real old ammo that won't shoot is because of the mercury based primers, heat kills them.
