Title: Buckskins
Post by: mountainmen1969 on September 20, 2008, 01:16:13 PM
Me and my wife are looking to get into cas. We have been buckskinners for years and have most of the clothing for the 1840ish period. Can we use these types of clothing for cas?

I say absolutely  :) although that's, depending on the time frame, style and availabilty of store goods.
Buckskins were long wearing and popular in remote regions.

Buckskin coats and even pants were popular field dress but less so on Town folk.
Some soldiers, particularly officers wore Buckskins in the field during the campaigns of the 1870's.
Among Scouts it is quite common to see photos of them in their buck & elk skins

I wear a Buckskin fringed coat with orginial US Frock coat buttons.....
