I want to buy a new 1875 Remington .45 as my first entry into this great hobby. However, my local dealers carry very few replicas of any type. Where do you guys buy? Online? Get dealer to order from manufacturer? I prefer Uberti. Where's the best place to buy? Any help would be appreciated.

I have purchased off of Gunborker.com and Guns America. Have been real happy with both. Might visit Auction Arms too. I ALWAYS pay with a Postal Money Order by US mail. Postal inspectors have clout. No problems, but I feel secure going that route.

I know that EMF imports the Uberti 1875 Remington, as I have a pair of them, you may wish to contact EMF and see if there is an FFL close to you that deals with EMF. I do know that they have them in stock.

USFA is working on a couple of Remington models including the 1875 that Remington has authorized them to build. Not sure as when they will be available or who they will be sold through, but if USFA is building them they should be top notch replicas.
I got mine through a local dealer from Taylors Inc, they are Uberti made and perform well.
You might look and see if you could find a pair made by Hartford Armory, they are a bit pricey and are no longer made so may be hard to find.

...very pricey too. I think if I was to spend that kind of money, I'd wait till USFA has them..... ;)
Not bad considering that they cost about $1500 each new plus the cost of the 44 cal cylinders.
The pair that I have are dead on and function flawlessly.
Wish I had bought a pair of Hartford 1890 Remingtons in 38/357 when I got my 75s.

Well they better hurry, because once USFA comes out with theirs, the market will be closed.
Check out the web site for Johnny Thundersticks. He sells the EMF Remington 1875 for $365 plus $25 shipping. I bought a pistol from him last year. Called him with my credit card, had my FFL dealer FAX a copy of his license and the next day, I picked up my pistol. Overnight from the west coast to the far northeast coast. Great service.
