Thought I'd put up a pic of a Remington NM 44CF Factory Conversion, I just bought recently, plus some 44 ammo.
Nice Remy! and nice cartridges if I do say so. I like shooting that cartridge.
Nice new toy, pard. I love those conversions. Thanks for sharing. ;)
Very Nice! How's she shoot?
I get all my reloading stuff for the 44 Rem/Colt C.F. from the same place RJ gets his ammo.
Old West Moulds in Fruita Co.
Bernie Knowles is the prop. and has all the stuff you need to reload yourself...much cheaper than buying from RJ
Bernie's email is: allisonmonument@ aol.com
He's a good guy and has what you need.
Yes those are Starline 44 Colt brass. I have some and some BHA (Blackhills) I bought 2000 44 Colt brass once upon a time. With 28 Grns BP and the 248 grn Old West Mould Bullet (like yours) your BP loads approximate the old 45LC, shy 2 grns BP and 2 Grns bullet weight.
Yep I love thois Remy Conversions. Looking for a 46Rimfire next.
Charlie,
What would you do with .46 rimfire?
Tubac
Tubac,
I'd probably put it away. I'd like to have one of each of the Remington NMA conversions. 46 R.F. 44 R.F. I have the 44 C.F.
45 LC.
Then we get into the factory conversions and the Armory, then the Gunsmith, the wierd (like the 45-70 NMA that sold on Auction arms a year or so ago. Yep it had a new made cylinder at time of conversion, and the frame was releived to accept the longer cylinder. Twern't much left at the loading groove. it sold for around $269.00 as I recall) ) and the WOW and BY GOLLY. (WOW how'd they do that, By Golly they did this too!)
Barbarosa,
Yeah I saw that one.
I'd also like to have one Remy from Bruce McDowells Collection. Possibly one shown in the book. It'd be a nice table draw at the gunshows. Having the gun laid on the book open to the page that the gun is on.
Charlie,
I just can't put nothin' "away". I just gotta fire everything I have. My three .38 rimfires drive me crazy, just sittin' there.
I'm thinking about convertin' them to center fire. ;-)
Tubac.
