I'm new and I'm putting together my outfit. I've been an admirer of homburg hats, and I have a cheap one. I'm looking for a "dual" purpose one that I can use for CAS, but also wear for fancy occasions. I'd like a fur felt homburg in a charcoal/gray color.
Can you guys point me in the direction of a few makers?

Dobbs makes a nice Homburg. Google "Dobbs Hat Co" and you'll see no end of retailers.
You don't say where you're located, but if your travels should take you through St. Joseph MO you can check with the Stetson factory there. They have a factory seconds store there, and if you're lucky they'll have an "almost" perfect one in the right size/color and for a very good price. It's just south of town on I-29.
