I want a stamp that has my business name and a place for the date made.
Who would i talk to about have this type of stamp made?
thanks in advance
You're looking for a Maker's Stamp. You can get really good ones from Infinity Stamps (http://www.infinitystamps.com/leatherstamps.html) or less expensive ones from Leather Unlimited (http://www.leatherunltd.com/services/stamps/cust_stamps.html)
edit: The Leather Unlimited link is invalid. Maybe they are no longer offering them.
Marshal,
thanks
looks like infinity stamps may be the ticket for me.

That one will probably last you a lifetime. Intend to have them make a smaller one for me one of these days. If you get one, post a pic of it and a sample so others can see what you got.
I second the Infinity Stamp. My wife bought me one for our Anniversary. I still am itching to stamp something, just been to busy at my job. Soon though.
I bought mine through Tandy Leather.
Any one have any experience with Harper Manufactoring stamps? Seems like they are a compititor of Infinity....
When I finally got my stamp. I called both Harper and Infinity. Harper got back to me right away. I talked to them a couple times, sent a drawing and they made and shipped my stamp right away. The whole process only took a couple of weeks and the stamp was in my hands long before Infinity ever got back to me. The stamp was a bit pricey but the quality is second to none and it will last forever. Here's a link:

We don't have any one thread that points to where to get maker's stamps made so maybe we can get everyone to contribute to this thread and we'll put a link to it in our FAQ thread.
Later: OK, this thread is linked in our FAQ thread.
Here's the stamp:
I found a link to Grey Ghost Graphics. Thanks for the source, Marshal Tac. Here it is:

I got mine thru Hidecrafters, but am planning on getting one thru gray ghost. They look like they make nice ones. DM

Phillips Engraving did mine. Dunno if it's good enough for a professional quality maker, but for this hobbyist, wanna-be leather crafter, it's perdy good.

That's really nice, RT. Thanks for sharing with us.

Quality, deep stamp with clear sharp lines and letters. A bit pricey, but worth the expense for quality.

I want to get a stamp made. Several widths are generally given for the oval shape around the lettering. Was there a particular width the old-timers used?
What size do pards use?
