Let me tell you just little bit about how CAS City came to be.
CAS City came to life as a service for subscribers on the cas-list, the first Internet email forum for Cowboy & Western Action Shooting. It was started back in 1995. The cas-list was all email subscription ( remember the dial-up modems? ) and was managed through a mailing list manager called Majordomo. In 1997, we set up a website called CAScity which moved to its own domain in 1997. CAS-L became CAS City Forum Hall in 2004.
This was way back when Social Media was an unknown term and before many of the current websites promoting our sport even existed.
CAS City has been established as one of the premier web sites promoting the sport. It is not a for profit project, but more of a pet project. Our attention to maintaining the site has not been consistent over the years, but we’ve had a loyal following and we owe it to them to keep it running and to keep it technically up date. Since December 2019, we have invested a lot of resources on server changes and software updates.
The purpose with CAScity.com is to promote the sport of cowboy and western action shooting, reenactment, hobbies and interests nationally and internationally and make it a place where fellow shooters and suppliers can interact through various sections.
CAS City is an Internet junction without any specific bond to one single organization or group of members. All the members of our organizations are welcome to come into CAS City to share information about their activities.
We like to keep it a friendly place for entire families and individuals participating in our sport.
We and everyone in our “web town” are anxious to welcome newcomers to the sport. Those that have not yet taken the first steps to join us, saddle up your horses.. gather your guns up and ride on into town. Stop in the Longbranch or any of the “towns buildings”, pull up a chair and join in the conversations…
You’ll not find any strangers here in CAS City…. What you will find is a whole heap of good people and friends that will go out of their way to make you feel welcome.
Have fun and don’t get your spurs tangled up.
